Suicide Bombing Gaining New Converts, Expert Says
Militants see no other solutions to despair

Geneva Park, ON – Suicide bombers are rational, sane human beings whose choice to end their lives as they kill others is considered perfectly normal in the societies they grow up in, says a U.S. psychiatrist who worked for the CIA.

Jerrold Post has put together personality profiles for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency for more than 20 years and spoken to scores of accused Palestinian and al-Qaeda terrorists. In an interview yesterday, he said that the appeal of suicide bombing is broadening.

The practice was once limited to very young men, a huge percentage of them teenagers.

"Now women, mothers, have joined this pathway, and middle-aged men, a 43-year-old father. I see it as a trend," he said.

Dr. Post spoke yesterday at the Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs annual conference, held north of Toronto. This year's theme is "God's Back with a Vengeance: Religion, Pluralism and the Secular State."

He said his colleagues have given up asking people why they join their militant organizations to become suicide bombers. "Because we would get these weird looks: 'Why do we join? Everybody is joining. It's only the weird individuals who don't join,' " he said. "This is troubling to hear and understand."

Suicide bombers are rational, sane people......

No

.....whose choice to end their lives as they kill others is considered perfectly normal in societies they grow up in

Of that, I have no doubt.

It is normal for a pack of hyenas to surround a gazelle and rip to shreds, and to start dining before the animal is dead.
It is normal for a college sociology professor in New England to wear jackets with elbow patches, sport a beard, smoke a pipe, and decry the very capitalist society which has provided his comfortable lifestyle.
In a society which is abnormal, the aberrant is normal.

Terrorists 'Normal': Suicide bombers fit their culture, psychiatrist says

And I knew a psychologist who told me over 18 years ago that most Middle Eastern Muslim/Arab males would test out as being clinically insane. Yeah, so they're "normal" in their culture. Big deal. It's when they're trying to blow up other peoples' cultures that their normality become pathological. I mean, what pathogenic bacteria and intestinal parasites do is normal behavior for pathogenic bacteria and intestinal parasites--but that doesn't mean we have to accept it or try to understand it or otherwise put up with it. And the same goes for the suicide bombers and for the culture that helps shape them.

Many psychiatrists are loonies. Even some supposedly serious and credentialed people are unable to deal with evil. This is cultural relativism at its worst. Should we accept slavery in the Sudan as perfectly rational for the society they grew up in?

This terrorism will continue UNTIL we kill the terrorists,
their families, their villages, and their cities
under rivers of pig fat.

ONLY then will they not dare.

Nihlists.

They are happily killing their young men of breeding age.

And now some of their women.

They know they cannot comepete, and they are hopeless.

( they are also crazier than a drunken orchard rat)

Yes, the young suicidal jihadis are the well-adapted members of their cohort.

Just as the Young Communists and Pioneers in the USSR and the Hitler Jugend in the Third Reich attracted the best-adapted elements of their own pathological national cultures.

The mad bombers are an authentic expression of contemporary Arab culture. All too authentic.

Being considered sane by the standards of an insane society does not make one sane in fact.

Truth of the matter is, any sane member of that society is eliminated ASAP as a dangerous, destabilizing influence.

After enough generations, natural selection insures an almost 100% insane population.

If 'sanity' is allowed to be defined in Leftist relativist-culturalist terms, rather than upon rational, objectivist terms, then this will be the next area to fall to 'diversity'.

Suicide bombers are rational, sane people...

...who happen to live in a sociopathic, evil-driven society.

Hmmmm, I wonder what part of their "culture" makes them want to harm others - could it be the Koran/Islam? If Islam is an insane religion it needs to either be reformed or removed. Human sacrifice was considered a standard part of Mayan culture/religion once - why don't people still do that? Hmmmmm.
