Somali women are genitally mutilated. If they're avoiding appointments, it's not because of the gowns. You may be ON to something here! I think your right.........
But Maine jumped through the hoops and in SIX weeks had a newly redesigned gown. NOW what will their excuse be!
Personally, I think the girl children of every mutilated Somali mother should be examined by local doctors, and the results reported to the Division of Family Services. Any mutilations among the girls should result in very severe penalties. I also think that local doctors should be made aware of the mutiliations and should be reminded of their responsibilities as mandated reporters.
I never thought I'd be on the side of Family Services here, but what these women have done to them is monstrous, and our government is *severely* remiss in not doing more to stop it.
