Here is the note I got back from Kranish who wrote the piece in the Boston Globe, which I believe was published so that the more cowardly TV stations managers could USE IT as an excuse to refuse to air the Swift Boat Ads. (I sent Mike Kranish the page from Amazon.com advertising his connection with the Kerry campaign via the book and reminded him that PEGGY NOONAN had the decency to publically step down from her job as a journalist, writer as it were, for the Wall Street Journal to AVOID conflict of interest...asking that HE DO THE SAME!)

Here is his reply to me via email.

Lynn,
The Amazon site was in error, which they tell me they have now fixed. I never did any work for the Kerry campaign, and of course was not involved in a campaign-authorized book.

Michael Kranish
Boston Globe
Washington Bureau

I understand that Amazon has been changing the author of this book around a bit...don't know what is going on, if anything, but I believe SOMETHING is wrong with this entire story. Don't you?

Kranish is not being honest with you.

Kranish was indeed contracted to write a forward for a campaign book for Kerry.

The book was recently switched. They are now going to go with a different book.
Kranish is playing with words to make it sound like he never was contracted. Dems play with words a lot.

Kranish was contracted to write the forward and give support to the book.

Write him back and tell him...."there is a difference between having a book pulled at the last moment...to go with another book and not being contracted.
Inform him that some folks have now filed a Freedom of Information Act to get the records of what Kerry and Kranish have been in contact with. Kerry is a US Senator...so that FOI may have some legs.

If Amazon fixed it, it is not recently - it's still up there. Also, Kranish is listed as the author of THREE more books on Kerry (all look to be variations of the Kerry biography book authored by the same three reporters), even the Spanish one which is subtitled: La alternativa a Bush. Kranish also wrote an article titled: "Prescott Bush and the Nazis" on 4/23/01. I think it's safe to say he's not a Bush family fan.
