Flowers et al was reprehensible because it involved mistreatment of human beings rather than just school-boy bragging about his war record. The problem for the DNC is that there were witnesses to Kerry's act - lots of them - as well as his own word. And there are millions of ex-military who can weigh the words of the swift boat veterans against those of the lying weasels at the DNC. The DNC operatives seem to have a lot of experience "nuancing" charges of rape. Understanding how to fabricate a convincing military record is beyond them. What they don't understand is that it is beyond just about anyone, and anyone who had served would have told them not to try.
I dunno. I think their strategy is that they don't have to convince the military vets (who's votes they aren't going to get anyway), they only have to convince the average ninny on the street. But if the average ninny on the street chooses to believe the vets rather than the duplicitous 'rats, then they have real problems.
I didn't mean to belittle Flowers or others who accused Clinton, or to suggest that they lacked determination. I agree that what was done to them WAS reprehensible. Actions taken against Kathleen Willey were ESPECIALLY so. I think that particular incident angers me because she asked Clinton for help at the point of the death of her husband, and what did he do but try to gratify himself at her expense. Despicable.
