We need to be prepared to have a high commissioner who is responsible for the management, decision-making and helps in the transformation so it's not an American transformation.

This is a scary thought. A "high commissioner"? And who would appoint this person? Yikkes, the sovereignty of this country would be at stake. Doesn't that freak anyone out?

The UN has no record of Kerry formally meeting with the full Security Council, so who(whom?) and how many did he meet with ?

The Iraq war resolution was passed 10/11/2002.
Kerry must have seen the Security Council some time between 10/04/2002 & 10/11/2002.

Kerry answered Senate roll call votes on:
10/02/2002
10/03/2002
10/05/2002-10/06/2002 = a weekend.
10/09/2002
10/10/2002

so we are down to 3 days. 10/04,10/07, 10/08

The U.N. Security Council met: 10/02/2002, 10/04/2002, 10/08/2002
So we are down to 2 days.

We need to see if Kerry was in NY on any of: 10/04, 10/08/2002.

So far, I haven't been able to come up with any Kerry itinerary for those days.

Nothing will come of it. Reality is that high-level Democrats are not subject to the rule of law anymore. They know the GOP would never have the spine to take an issue all the way, and they ride that knowledge for all it's worth.

it's at least good for another round of Kerry / Foreign Leader commercials(s) ... "there he goes again. John Kerry is talking about those foreign leaders who want to see him elected. Now he's claiming he was negotiating in secret against the United States in the United Nations Security Council. C'mon Senator Kerry, it's time to start telling the truth and disclosing who these foreign leaders are"

Thanks for those dates. Being that NY and DC are so close, I don't think that we can rule out days that Kerry showed up for a roll call vote, as days that he couldn't have met with the SC.

IN the week preceding the vote, Kerry was busily meeting with foreign officials. And this is what was going on while he was trying to save Iraq's butt, and perhaps cover France's:

OCTOBER 2, 2002 : (ABU SAYYAF & IRAQI DIPLOMAT INVOLVED IN THE MURDER OF AN AMERICAN SERVICEMAN IN BOMB ATTACK IN PHILIPPINES) "It appeared that immediately after the bombing, there was a call to the embassy of Iraq by an alleged Abu Sayyaf guerrilla." - Blas Ople, Foreign Affairs Secretary, Philippines

OCTOBER 2, 2002 : (SALIM ARRESTED BY ISRAELIS: HE IS LINKED TO IRAQ) Rakahd Salim, the General Secretary of the Front for National Liberation in the West Bank and Arafat advisor , was arrested on October 2, 2002 after documents seized by the IDF during operation "Defensive Shield" indicated that he was responsible on behalf of Saddam Hussein for the distribution of money to the families of Palestinian terrorists and suicide bombers. Salim was directly responsible for the transfer of Iraqi aid funds to the families of suicide bombers and Palestinian terrorists.

OCTOBER 3, 2002 : (IRAQ : US PSYOP, IRAQ FIRES ON A-10) The Pentagon is conducting an information operations campaign of its own Iraq: on Thursday an A-10 "Warthog" released 120,000 leaflets over Iraqi missile and radar sites. The leaflets warn gunners not to fire on or target coalition aircraft overhead or they will face destruction. The A-10 dropping the leaflets was fired on, and a strike was called in on the radar site.

OCTOBER 4, 2002 12:02 PM Pacific Time : (DC SNIPER SHOOTING, FREEPER REPORT) Another broad-daylight shooting just occurred, this time in Fredericksburg, VA, just off I-95. It's not even on the news yet. About an hour's drive south of where the Montgomery County shootings happened, a woman was shot in the parking lot of a Michaels fabric store. My wife was in the store at the time. The victim had left the store and carried her purchases to her minivan. She unlocked the minivan and was loading her stuff into it when she was shot. No sign of the shooter. No one else was injured. The woman was taken away in an ambulance, condition unknown. Her license plate (which I'm not going to post) indicated that she had several children. by Steve0113

OCTOBER 4, 2002 : (BRAZIL ELECTIONS, VOA, CLINTONITES IN THE US NSC MUCK UP THE PROCESS) WASHINGTON – According to the latest polls, Sunday’s presidential election in Brazil will advance a candidate who is allied with Fidel Castro and wants to collaborate with the communist Chinese in developing nuclear weapons. Part of the blame, in the view of seasoned observers, goes to Voice of America, which has canceled broadcasts to that country at this critical juncture, and the fact that the Bush administration may be getting bad advice on the situation. "This is the revenge of the Sandinistas,” declared Faith Whittlesey, veteran of the Reagan administration’s battles to win the Cold War. In an interview with NewsMax.com, Whittlesey, who heads the Institute of World Politics, said she was appalled that VOA would turn its back on Brazil just when ultraleftist Luis Inacio "Lula” da Silva appears to be successfully wooing the voters of that largest Latin American country with his anti-American rhetoric. Kenneth Tomlinson, relatively new to his job as chairman of the Board of Broadcasting Governors (BBG), which oversees VOA, says he wants to restart broadcasts to Brazil. But he is not optimistic about getting the money for it. Of course, even if he does get the cash he needs, it will be too late to get accurate information to Brazilians before they vote. In an article in the Washington Times on Tuesday, Whittlesey further notes that the person in charge of "Brazil problems” for the National Security Council (NSC) has made no apparent complaint about the VOA's action, or rather inaction. In both cases – the Broadcasting Board of Governors and the advice the Bush administration may be getting on the matter – Clinton holdovers are involved. NewsMax.com has noted the actions of Clintonites on the BBG. Add to that Whittlesey’s report that John Maisto, who is on Condoleezza Rice’s NSC staff, has as his responsibility the oversight of "all of Latin America.” Whittlesey, who served as special assistant to President Ronald Reagan and then ambassador to Switzerland, recalled in her NewsMax interview the work she and other soldiers in the Reagan revolution did to help bring down the communist Sandinistas in Nicaragua. "We fell on our swords and took the heat,” she told NewsMax. Now, she said, the pro-terrroist, pro-communist movement is making its return to this hemisphere, on the march once again in Latin America. "Some of my Swiss banker friends said, ‘Oh no, it’ll never happen.’” But Whittlesey says if Brazil ends up teaming with Cuba and Venezuela in an alliance against the United States, it will be "the revenge of the Sandinistas.” If that happens, it may be in no small measure the result of the work of Clinton holdovers at VOA and at least one Clintonite within the Bush administration itself. That President Bush’s efforts are constantly under assault from leftovers within its own ranks and in government agencies, one veteran observer notes, might suggest the revenge of the Clintonistas.

OCTOBER 5, 2002 : (BRAZIL : DA SILVA, GARCIA : SOMEONE'S SLIP IS SHOWING....) " - We have to first give the impression that we are democrats," says Marco Aurélio Garcia, the hardline marxist behind president-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil. "Initially, we have to accept certain things. But that won't last," he warns. - “La Nación”, Buenos Aires (Argentina) 5 October 2002

OCTOBER 5, 2002 : (WALKER-LINDH IN COURT) ALEXANDRIA, Va. - John Walker Lindh sobbed yesterday as he denounced terror and got 20 years in jail for fighting with the Taliban, but the father of slain CIA agent Johnny "Mike" Spann said that's not enough. "The punishment doesn't fit the crime . . . I think he knows more than he's saying about what happened to Mike," the father of the CIA agent told Judge T.S. Ellis, while Lindh sat three feet away.
Lindh sniffled and sobbed as he spoke out for the first time in court about his decision to leave California for Afghanistan, train in al Qaeda terror camps and fight with the enemy Taliban. "Had I realized then what I know now about the Taliban, I would have never joined them," Lindh said, claiming he had been unaware of the Taliban's mistreatment of women and its relationship to Osama bin Laden. Speaking slowly and with a peculiar accent, Lindh said, "Bin Laden's terrorist attacks are completely against Islam . . . His grievances, whatever they may be, cannot be addressed by acts of injustice and violence against innocent people in America."
When pressed by the judge about his role in Spann's killing, Lindh said, "I had no role in the death of Johnny Micheal Spann."
He was sentenced to 20 years in jail as part of his plea deal, in which the feds dropped the charge of conspiracy to kill Americans, and Judge Ellis recommended that Lindh serve his time near his parents' home in Northern California.
The most emotional exchange came when Spann addressed the court. Spann told the judge that it was one year to the day that his son left his wife Shannon and two young children, Emily and Allison, to go fight the enemy in Afghanistan. Shannon was pregnant when her husband died and has, since then, had a baby boy, Jake. "Allison and Emily cried, and Allison said, 'Please don't go,' but Mike looked at Shannon and Allison and Emily and said . . . 'What if every dad said, "I can't go and fight for my country," ' then who would go?" Spann said, recalling his son's last family conversation. Spann was killed in a prison uprising in Afghanistan soon after he and another agent interviewed Lindh, who had been mum throughout the interrogation. Lindh has repeatedly claimed innocence in Spann's death, and U.S. prosecutors say they haven't uncovered any evidence that he was involved. Judge Ellis told Spann, "I would not have approved the plea if I thought this young man played a role in your son's death." "I understand all your suspicions, and I assure you I had them too . . . We may have not gotten it right. It's an imperfect world. We may never know. Your son was a hero - and that's the only certainty I can see," the judge added. To Lindh, the judge said, "You were willing to give your life for the Taliban, but not for your country . . . No one should admire what you did." - "TRAITOR'S TEARS" by BRIAN BLOMQUIST, New York Post , 10/05/02

OCTOBER 6, 2002 : (BRAZIL : PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION) Brazil's presidential election is scheduled for October 6th with a run-off vote on October 27th for the top two voter getters if no candidate gets a majority in the first vote. According to the latest poll, the only non-socialist presidential candidate, Jose Serra, has slipped to only 13 percent of the vote. Running in second place is the candidate of the Popular Socialist Party and the Worker's Front, Cero Gomes, who has recently surged to 27 percent of the vote. Even though his party is a fairly recent offshoot of the Brazilian Communist Party, Gomes, is invariably mischaracterized in the liberal 'mainstream' press as a 'center-left' candidate. The final socialist party candidate, Anthony Garotinho is polling 12 percent. The Brazilian right, whose candidate bowed out of the race amid corruption allegations, is badly fractured and has divided most of its support between Serra and Gomes. This is Luis Inacio "Lula” da Silva's fourth run for the Presidency. Constantine Mendes, a senior fellow with the Hudson Institute has characterized Gomes as 'the Communist candidate.' In fact, Gomes was a member of the largest centrist party of Brazil until a few years ago and is a fairly recent convert to socialism. While Gomes is clearly not a Communist, his party does have a Communist heritage.

Yemeni officials say they do not consider the blast an act of sabotage, but a diplomat at the French embassy told the AFP news agency it was believed to be a terrorist attack. OCTOBER 7, 2002 : (BUSH SAYS A TOP AL QAEDA OPERATIVE HAD RECEIVED SAFE HAVEN & MEDICAL TREATMENT IN BAGHDAD, IRAQ - ZARQAWI) President Bush -- earlier this year -- when he was trying to tie al Qaeda with Iraq, said a top al Qaeda operative had received safe haven and medical treatment in Baghdad. Now, that is Zarqawi. During a speech delivered October 7 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bush referred to "one very senior al Qaeda leader who received medical treatment in Baghdad this year, and who has been associated with planning for chemical and biological attacks." There is no other direct link between Iraq and Zarqawi that we know about, but that will be looked at very closely. - "Arrests may link al Qaeda, Iraq," by Mike Boettcher, CNN , December 14, 2002

OCTOBER 7, 2002 : (WMD, ANTHRAX VACCINE CONTRACTS AWARDED) - (CIDRAP News) – The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has awarded contracts to two companies to make and test a new anthrax vaccine that would require fewer doses than the existing vaccine and possibly protect people even if given after exposure to anthrax. Contracts worth a total of $22.5 million through fiscal 2003 were awarded to VaxGen Inc. of Brisbane, Calif., and Avecia of Manchester, United Kingdom, the NIAID announced last week. ...
... The bidding will not be limited to VaxGen and Avecia. VaxGen said its contract is worth $13.6 million. "If results from the first phase are positive, VaxGen will be eligible for an additional $13.6 million in 2003 as a continuation of the current contract to support a Phase II clinical trial," the company statement said. The investigational vaccine "combines the safety benefits of a vaccine made through modern recombinant technology with a record of efficacy documented in animals," VaxGen said. "It is an alum-adjuvanted, single component, recombinant protein vaccine candidate similar in composition to VaxGen's investigational AIDS vaccines." Battelle, a VaxGen subcontractor in Columbus, Ohio, will have the main responsibility for manufacturing the vaccine and conducting preclinical safety and efficacy studies, VaxGen officials said. OCTOBER 8, 2002 : (SALEM or SALIM, IRAQ, WEST BANK, ARAB LIBERATION FRONT, FATAH, PLO, PLF) Saddam Hussein's pro-Iraqi "terror banker" on the West Bank, Rakad Salem (Rakahd Salim) , 58 - who personally met with Saddam in Baghdad - confesses to funneling $15 million to Palestinian terrorists. Investigators said documents obtained in the West Bank verified Salem's admission that $15 million had passed from Saddam's personal control through a series of bank accounts until it reached the Arab Liberation Front, where Salem was secretary-general. Investigators said Salem served as Saddam's conduit to terrorists in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. They said he admitted paying $10,000 to the family of every Palestinian "martyr" - the popular term for homicide bomber. In addition, seriously wounded survivors of attacks on Israelis would receive $1,000 in Iraqi money, he said. The less seriously wounded would get $500. Authorities said Salem's notoriety as Saddam's money man put him in close contact with leading Palestinian factions, including Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, and he served on the Palestine Liberation Organization's Central Council. His arrest was the first of a major agent of the Iraqi dictator for a role in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Israeli authorities said the financial chain went from accounts in a branch of the Iraqi national bank in Amman, Jordan, to a Jordanian bank in Amman, to a Ramallah bank controlled by Salem. Israeli prosecutors did not say over what time period the $15 million was transferred. Until his arrest, Salem had occupied a fifth-floor office in Ramallah, on the same floor as the terrorist Palestinian Liberation Front, whose leader, Abu Abbas, carried out the 1986 hijacking of the cruise ship Achille Lauro. Israeli authorities say Salem had close ties to Abbas, who is believed to be hiding out in Iraq. Salem was arrested last week by Israeli commandos who were disguised as Arabs. He is being held at an undisclosed location - "TERROR BANKER" by URI DAN, New York Post , October 9, 2002

OCTOBER 8, 2002 : (FORMER NSC EXPERT CONCERNED IRAQ MAY HAVE SMALLPOX) Iraq's last reported outbreak of smallpox came in 1972, the same year Iraq started biological weapons research. A World Health Organization report estimated that about 800 people were infected in that outbreak, which had spread from Iran and later spread to Syria and Yugoslavia. "It's highly possible Iraq retained stocks of the smallpox virus (from that outbreak) into the '80s and '90s and beyond," said Elisa Harris, a biological weapons expert on the National Security Council under President Clinton. U.N. inspectors also found Iraq had a huge number of chicken eggs, which could be used to grow smallpox or other viruses, said Harris, now with the Center for International and Security Studies at the University of Maryland. "There's no clear-cut evidence available publicly that I'm aware of that proves the Iraqis have the virus," Harris said. "We just simply don't know. But there is a circumstantial case to be made." - "Experts: Iraq May Have Smallpox : Several Clues Suggest Iraq May Have Smallpox As Part of Its Arsenal, Experts Say , " AP, October 8 2002

OCTOBER 8, 2002 : (IRAQI DEFECTORS ACCUSE SOUTH AFRICA OF BEING INVOLVED IN IRAQ'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM; IRAQI AGENT NADHIM JABOURI HAD BEEN SENT TO SOUTH AFRICA TO ARRANGE PURCHASES OF SPECIALIZED ALUMINUM TUBES) Renewed suspicion has been cast over SA's possible involvement in the Iraqi nuclear weapons programme, with allegations by a former Baghdad intelligence officer surfacing in a US magazine. The Democratic Alliance has written to three government ministers to ask about the claim that SA had been supplying Iraq with special aluminum tubes used to enrich uranium to a weapons grade in centrifuges. The allegations came in a recent article published in Insight magazine an insert in the Washington Times and were repeated by Mark Steyn, a columnist writing in last week's Spectator a weekly magazine based in London. Sales of such tubes to Iraq would violate United Nations security council resolution 687 of 1991, which prohibits the transfer of technology that has a civilian as well as military use. Following a recent statement in a British government report on Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, that Baghdad had attempted to acquire "significant quantities of uranium in Africa", the SA government denied that it had tried to do so in SA. Comment on the latest allegations was not available from government last night.
The article in Insight by journalist Kenneth Timmerman quotes a former Iraqi intelligence officer as saying that Baghdad had bought specialised magnets from Germany and aluminum tubes from SA. According to Insight, the Iraqi intelligence officer is associated with a broad-based group opposed to Saddam Hussein, the Iraqi National Congress (INC).
Insight quoted the INC as saying that Iraq "is turning increasingly to SA to procure nuclear materials and forbidden equipment needed for its weapons programmes". The article saida top Iraqi intelligence official, Nadhim Jabouri, had been sent to the Iraqi embassy in SA, which Insight said mistakenly was in Johannesburg.
According to the Iraqi embassy in Pretoria, no one by that names works there.
Insight said that to arrange travel documents, Iraqi agents in Amman, Jordan, went through a senior diplomat based at the SA embassy.
Most nuclear weapons programmes, including the one dismantled by SA in the early 1990s, would use aluminum tubes in the process of uranium enrichment. Manufactured to high tolerances, the tubes are used because of the highly reactive and toxic nature of uranium hexafluoride gas, which is separated into lighter and heavier isotopes by a centrifuge. - "IRAQ ALLEGEDLY SOUGHT SA NUCLEAR MATERIAL," Business Day (South Africa), 8th October , http://www.bday.co.za/bday/content/direct/1,3523,1194892-6094-0,00.html

OCTOBER 10, 2002 : (US CONGRESSIONAL JOINT RESOLUTION ON THE USE OF FORCE IN IRAQ) Congress adopted joint resolution authorizing use of force against Iraq. The Republican-controlled House voted 296 to 133 to allow the president to use the military "against the continuing threat" posed by the Iraqi regime. The Democratic-run Senate followed at 1:15 a.m. 11 October with a vote of 77 to 23 for the measure. - http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq-timeline.htm.

OCTOBER 12, 2002 : (MASSIVE EXPLOSION IN BALI, INDONESIA, AL QAEDA) A massive explosion from a car bomb destroyed a night club at the Kuta beach resort on the tourist island of Bali in Indonesia on October 12, sparking a devastating fire that killed at least 187 people and wounded more than 300 -- many of them foreigners, mainly Australians, Germans, Canadians, Britons and Swedes. Indonesian police chief General Da'i Bachtiar told the media that the explosion came from a Kijang, a jeep-like vehicle, and called it the worst act of terrorism in Indonesia's history. According to local officials, a second bomb exploded near the island's US consular office, but there were no casualties. All indicators received till now point to its being a terrorist strike, most probably connected to the first anniversary of the beginning of the US air strikes in Afghanistan on October 7 and the preparations for a possible US-UK intervention in Iraq to have President Saddam Hussein overthrown. There have been two terrorist strikes almost coinciding with the first anniversary. The first was the ramming by a boat filled with explosives against a French super tanker off Yemen on October 6 and the second the explosions in Bali, which have come five days after the anniversary. A terrorist organisation in Aden is reported to have claimed responsibility for the strike against the tanker, but its claim is yet to be verified. - "Indonesian terror groups want to establish Islamic Caliphate in South East Asia ," by B Raman, rediff.com, October 14, 2002

OCTOBER 2002 : (2004 REPORT SAYS THAT IN OCT 2002 ABDUL QADEER KHAN HAS PAKISTANI AIRCRAFT STOP IN SYRIA TO PICK UP IRAQI "WMD MATERIAL" FOR SAFEKEEPING IN PAKISTAN) Pakistani sources claim that there has been another bombshell in the admissions of guilt made by Khan's colleagues and juniors, who are still under custody and questioning. They are reported to have stated that during his over 40 visits to Dubai in the last three years, he had met Iraqi intelligence officials who sought his help in having some of the weapons of mass destruction (WMD) material of Iraq airlifted from Syria to Pakistan for being kept in safe custody there to prevent their falling into the hands of the UN inspectors. Khan allegedly agreed to their request. According to them, in October,2002, Khan had a Pakistani aircraft, which had gone to Iran to deliver some equipment, stop in a Syrian airport on its way back . It picked up the Iraqi WMD "material" and brought it to Pakistan for safe custody on behalf of Iraq. It is not clear what did they mean by material---only documents or something more? http://saag.org/papers10/paper916.html

I think the Baghdad Trio, McDermott, Bonior and Conyers went to Iraq in Nov, maybe after Kerry and his 'world leader' friends helped pave the way.

Kerry is every bit as delusional as Danny Kaye's character, Walter Mitty, in the Movie, "The secret life of Walter Mitty". This movie is aired often on those cable channels that air old movies-if you've never watched it, watch it the next time you surf upon it.

The only thing about the whole movie that isn't identical to the Imaginary life of John Kerry, is the that Mitty found that Virgina Mayo wasn't one of his delusions. Everything in "The secret life of John Kerry" is a delusion.

I think the Bagdad Boys went to Iraq sometime around Sept/Oct of 2002

Posted: October 2, 2002 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2002 WorldNetDaily.com In another time, in a similar situation, Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., and Rep. David Bonior, D-Mich., would be indicted for high treason and face the death penalty for the stunt they pulled in Baghdad this week

WASHINGTON -- Only days before Congress is expected to begin debating the use of military force against Saddam Hussein, a Seattle congressman and a group of human rights activists from Seattle are planning separate trips to Iraq that they hope will yield ground-level arguments against going to war.

Democrats Jim McDermott and David Bonior of Michigan are leaving for Baghdad today. The purpose of the congressional trip, they said, is to inspect Iraq's infrastructure, shattered by allied forces in the 1991 Gulf War......"

Just as a reminder to everyone of Kerry's first mention of meeting with foreign leaders. Or as the Globe reporter lied, "more leaders?"

Speaking of Kerry, I had some insight today while eating lunch...On one of threads yesterday it was noted that Kerry himself said he was in a meeting on morning of 9/11 with other Senators when the Twin Towers were hit. He actually saw the second plane hit second tower via TV.

He told the interviewer that it took 40 minutes for them all to recover from the shock. Then it said they heard the explosion at Pentagon. Isn't that deriliction of their duty as members of Congress, in that they knew we were attacked 40 min prior to Pentagon's attack and they NEVER CALLED ANYONE TO WARN THEM!! They were US Senators, shouldn't they have called the Pentagon to ask if anyone was watching TV and had seen the attack, it might have saved lives at Pentagon???

" Sec. 953. - Private correspondence with foreign governments"

Of course he's not guilty of that, only guilty of lying...

thanks, maybe they helped him.

As for Biden, he's the guy who took the big donation from a pro-regime Iranian lobbyist in early 2002, isn't he?
