LMAO! Here I'm reading NCSteve's post and I'm thinking -- man, we've got some real common ground here. And then he goes and blows it by mentioning that godawful concoction of pig meat and ketchup from Lexington.
OK folks, there's been about umpteeneleven dozen barbecue cook offs and Eastern North Carolina ALWAYS wins -- as God intended. Now the beef stuff that Texans and KC does is really good eating, but barbecue was invented and perfected in eastern North Carolina. I know, I know, all you other folks, your feelings may be terribly hurt, even shattered, but that's just the way it is. Enjoy your beef and boast of it proudly -- but never, ever mix ketchup and pork -- that's just wrong.
