ACLU to monitor Boyd's compliance By MIKE JAMES - The Independent

SUMMIT (Kentucky) - The American Civil Liberties Union will monitor compliance with anti-harassment training requirements at Boyd County middle and high schools, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The organization will want to know whether all the students at the two schools are getting the training, which is mandatory under the terms of a court order settling a lawsuit against the district by a gay-rights club at Boyd County High School, said Chris Hampton, spokeswoman for the ACLU's Lesbian and Gay Rights Project.
Some parents have said they will take their children out of school on the day of the training.
So far, the worst consequence for students who don't go to school for the training would be an unexcused absence, according to Superintendent Bill Capehart.
And so far, the plan for the training doesn't include any make-up provision for those who miss the original session.
The district should have some mechanism for make-up sessions for students who miss the training, Hampton said.
"The school agreed to make the training mandatory for all students," she said. "Of course, we'll pay attention to whether they keep up their end of the bargain."
There is no specific number of absences that would trigger action by the ACLU, Hampton said.
Teachers and staff throughout the district took anti-harassment training Monday and Tuesday.
Those sessions were well-attended, Capehart said.
An allegation that a local clergyman had been allowed to meet with teachers at the high school to discuss ways to avoid the training was false, Capehart said.
Meetings on district property to discuss circumventing the training wouldn't be allowed, but meetings away from school property aren't a concern of the district, Capehart said.
"If it took place in someone else's domain the only thing I'd be concerned about would be my need to enforce the consent decree where it says mandatory training," he said.
Hampton denied allegations that the ACLU had threatened legal action over the supposed meetings.
ACLU attorneys had written to the district's attorneys saying they had heard that Rev. Tim York, active in opposition to the Gay-Straight Alliance that filed the suit, had been allowed to meet with staffers at the high school.
"The letter didn't threaten anything. It just reminded them of what they'd agreed to," Hampton said.
"We'd heard there was a meeting at the school and at churches. They can talk about it all they want," she said.
York said he hadn't met with staff on district property, but has talked to staffers about "not just how to avoid it, but how to deal with the whole issue."
"I will help them any way I can legally to protect the teachers and the staffers from what I feel, and many others feel, is reverse discrimination by forcing them to hear the homosexual agenda as a curriculum."

I'd be taking my kid out of that district permanently...
They just got $500,000 from the administration... where is that link? hhmmmm
The ACLU - fascist overseers
This is scary stuff. I agree with post #2--take your kid out of the school permanently. That solves the problem in the micro--not sure what in heck you do about the problem in the macro.
Politically Correct brainwashing in the joys of butt-f*cking. You need to get salty once in awhile to describe what the ACLU really means by "sensitivity training." Its an Orwellian slogan that tries to bludgeon students into accepting homosexuality as a normal, healthy sexual lifestyle choice. There's nothing voluntary about it and its a good enough reason for parents to homeschool their kids.
Fortunately, knowing what adolescent micreants are like (I am one), let me just assure everyone that for a week afterward kids will still be making remarks about stuff they thought was stupid.
We all know that this is just the camel's nose under the tent. If this can happen in Kentucky, it will be coming to your school in the next couple of years. Sometimes I fear we have lost our country and will never reclaim it against this incredible onslaught.
It is overwhelming at times to be informed. I often feel the same way. Tonight I'm feeling it big time.
The ACLU would prefer mandatory experimentation.
forgot to mention Gay Straight Alliance is the recruiting arm of GLSEN which is the organization that mandated children be taught to experiment with homsoexual sex in the Boston School districts.
Remember what Jesus said when you see evil all around you and it is getting worse...
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. -Eph.2:10
Our best weapon is prayer.
Good grief

What court? Someone from the school needs to call Jay Sekulow, American Center for Law and Justice:

The only way to protect your child from the multiple lies and lunacies is to homeschool or send them to private school if you can't. All schools are pushing globalism, perversion, and distorted US history.
If my kids were in public school today, I'd live in a trailer if I had to just to homeschool them myself so they can grow up with truths instead of propaganda.
If "the school agreed to make it mandatory", get the kids out NOW. They are paid daily per student. This is one of those times that you either stand your ground, or you lose for all of us.
What good will it do if the kid is just absent 'that day'? The school has made an agreement to make it mandatory. If you take your kid out for one day, it's STILL mandatory for the school to see to it that your child is taught that indoctrinating, non-scientific, non-factual information. So they still have that requirement of your kid, and YOU are still ALLOWING a school who pulls this kind of stuff to get paid every day.
If EVERYone, when it came to something like this, would do the RIGHT thing, instead of the EASY thing, our entire culture wouldn't be suffering like we are. One school here, one school there, lots of schools, 'everybody does it', to 'it's always been that way.'
since it is mandatory and part of a court order I suggest a parental group supervise the class and record it.
It is a court order so no BS of confidentiality can be claimed.
FYI, See what I mean?
