The first plane hit before 9:00 Eastern time and was not on TV. By the time the second plane hit, CNBC had a live shot of the fire burning in the first tower.The first plane was at 8:46 am. I was watching Fox & Friends and they had 'breaking news' just before 9am reporting a plane crash at the WTC. They speculated a small craft had hit it.

I may be incorrect and too early with 8:46am time but I do believe that Fox & Friends trio was just signing off at about 9am when they announced that a plane had hit the WTC.
So it was on FNC very soon after the first tower was hit.
