I don't care what the pundits left or right say. Carpetbagging wasn't right for Hillary, and it ain't right for Keyes. (Further, he's going to lose badly, which returns me to my long-standing criticism of Keyes: he NEVER runs for an office he could actually win, and therefore have to actually vote/govern where he would have to compromise, and, believe me, he WOULD compromise, because that is the art of politics).

Let me also remind you of this---which KEYES should know, because he is a brilliant man---the PURPOSE of the senate is to protect the states. The purpose of the House is to protect the people. That is why it is doubly important for a senator to be FROM THE STATE he or she supposedly represents.

The media didn't complain. They also didn't complain when Bobby Kennedy did it. But they're already beefing about Keyes - - even though he's coming at the request of the local party (which makes it very different from Hillary's ego trip)

The original purpose of the Senate was to protect the States. Ever since the 17th Amendment was enacted, this is no longer true.

Obama is being groomed and positioned for national office as "the true face of black America". What he really represents is another clintonesque stealth candidate, supposedly a moderate/centrist, but in reality a functional leftist. Like Clinton he possesses the charisma and eloquence to charm, soothe and reassure the voters into dropping their guard while he and his party continue implementing their leftist agenda.

For this reason alone it is important to have an equally intelligent and eloquent black candidate such as Keyes, who is also a true Constitutionist and conservative, oppose him in public debate, and to do it now, and not allow the media to create, without challenge, a "Mythos of Obama".

I read Obama was cutting a trip short to my home state to Mississippi this week where he was seeking campaign money. It seems to me if you can speak to people outside your state you are running in, outsiders can run also.

The point is this:
IT AINT CARBETBAGGING IF YOU ARE INVITED BY THE LOCALS!

What Keyes is doing is at the behest of Illinois republicans.

I like the analogy - this IS a rescue mission.

You don't have to be from a State to protect it. Certainly Osamabama is supporting the killing of 1000 black babies everyday with his Pro Abortion stance. How does that protect the state?

In this day and age, with advanced modes of transportation and communication, Keyes will do fine representing this or any state.

And lets remember that senators are representing all the people of the state. Millions of Christians have not voted because of all the RINOs in the republican party being put up as candidates. This man, Allan Keyes will bring back these Christians who now have a chance to vote for someone who is not shy about defending INNOCENT LIFE.

Keyes will smash Osama in the first week and then - Look out Moore and Kerry and the rest of the dem scum.

Can you say ATTACK DOG

I agree, carpetbagging won't help the Republican party. Just because Hillary got away with it, doesn't mean the Republicans can. Keyes is not good for the party. He is only good for himself. This is one time that being Black won't help. I am not saying that Keyes isn't right about his ethical stance, I am just saying that it is not a politically smart stance to take. Sometimes, in politics, it is necessary to hold your nose and your tongue.

Respectfully -
what are they protecting the states from? Someone else getting a bigger helping of pork than they do?

Because frankly I can't see anything else that's a threat. I mean sure, there may be some isolated dispute about water rights or something, but you don't have to be FROM Illinois to know that it's your defacto job to take the state's side on routine stuff like that.

Educate me. What will Obama or keyes be protecting Illinois from? Those nasty Cheeseheads becoming a threat again? ;)
