"Dishonest and dishonorable" is how John McCain described the attack ad now appearing on television in several swing states, courtesy of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Dishonest because the men who appear in the ad make false claims about John Kerry's wartime conduct and decorations. Dishonorable because these men have waited three decades to publicize their slurs, with partisan motives, during a presidential campaign.
**********SNIP SNIP SNIP********************
The hired help employed by the Swift Vets committee is thoroughly partisan, too. Aside from Spaeth and Thomas Rupprath, the private detective she recommended to provide research services, the group's IRS filing names several experienced Washington political operatives. The June 30 filing shows payments to Robert A. Hahn, a right-wing Internet activist and Web designer who also runs something called the Free Republic Network (apparently an affiliate of the extremist Free Republic Web site); and to Tom Wyld, a Navy veteran and former director of public relations for the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, the lobbying arm of the National Rifle Association.
The White House has deniability, to be sure, if charged with complicity in this campaign. The question is whether its deniability is plausible -- or risible.
As for the accuracy of the Republican veterans' accusations, they can be tested against the testimony of the men who served under Kerry's command -- all of whom but one have repeatedly endorsed his courage, his decency, and his candidacy. Denigration of Kerry's record should also be measured against the sterling evaluations that he received during the actual time of his service, including by Adm. Roy Hoffman, who now chairs the Swift Boat Veterans group.
No doubt the Republicans hope that attacking Kerry will distract from important issues they would prefer not to discuss or debate. But their campaign is backfiring, as drawing fresh attention to Vietnam does not flatter the candidate who avoided service there.
A month ago Sabertooth was singing the praises of "hon" who was posting here just a couple months ago. "Hon" is the creator of a series of the most despicable and slanderous antifreeper sites on the internet. I suspect anyone who sidles up to someone who calls Jim a "grifter" and a "fraud". Sure, Sabertooth can be sympathetic to anyone he wants but when that person is a POS, don't I have the right to say so?
"...you quote a comment from another thread and drag it over here, along with your assumptions that is "attacking" people."
There are several threads about what happened to the Swifties today and they are interelated. Your comment that I dragged it over here as if it wasn't germane is a little disingenuous. That what Sabertooth did was an attack was my own opinion. Feel free to differ.
"I doubt very highly that ST is "FEEDING" DU ANYTHING..."
The facts speak for themselves. There was no reason for Sabertooth to mention that Corsi is a FReeper except to heap a little more dung on bonfire. In addition to that, the FReeper who was mentioned in the Conason article never uses his real name. However, yesterday the antifreepers were talking about this very issue. Who sent that little piece of info to Conason?
I got a question for you that has been bugging me and maybe you can clear it up for everyone right now. Someone who researches posters on these antfreeper sites told me they believe you are the poster "FUSAYSWHO" on Hon's antifreeper site. They claim to have IP traffic information. Any truth to this?
I'm curious. What, exactly, is your goal on this thread? What do you hope to accomplish and what would you do differently?
I prefer to ignore any of that. I'm geniunely curious what his point is, what he hopes to accomplish, what he wants done differently.
I've been corrected, it's "FUSEZWHO".
I absolutely disagree. He may merely be informing us what the opposition plans.
All this is conjecture. I would like to hear it from the cats mouth.
He did time on one of those big giant boats in the South \
China Sea (totally out of harms way). My theory: during his downtime he went to school on naval regulations and find the "3 Purple Hearts and you're out rule" and requested transfer to a Swift Boat in country.
Once there, he secured his first, dubious Purple Heart in the first 24 hrs in country (1 down, 2 to go). And then he got the next (dubious)two and was out (he spent a total of 4 months in Country)of Nam.
Sure it was a risk for him to go to Nam, but the upside was so great. All he had to do was game the system, bug out of his tour early and launch his political career like his hero JFK.
The re-enactment footage shows just how premeditated he was about the whole thing.
Sickening!!

Americans everywhere have been diligently trying to find out what the link is, so that they can be sure they don't accidentally type it in and have this terrible video appear on their screens.
As a consequence, swiftvets.com just passed up johnkerry.com in the traffic rankings.
More dirt! More mud! Warn all Americans from sea to shining sea! Do not type www.swiftvets.com into your browser! It's horrible right-wing propaganda that no television station should be allowed to run. Hide your childrens' eyes. Do not see this video! It will corrupt your young. It will make your liver fall out. It says mean, bad things about a liberal Senator from Massachusetts who wants to be Commander-in-Chief.
And it's unfair, too. Only liberals like George Soros can fund web sites. And only moveon.org can run videos of Bush morphing into Hitler. When it's done to liberals, it's immoral and wrong.
Joe Conason does have it backwards. John F*ckin' RAISED his Vietnam service last week at the Boston Convention a grand total of 11 times and invited the American people to judge him on his four months service there. All we're doing is taking him at his own word. His candidate can dish it out but he can't take the heat. And we have yet to hear Kerry simply deny the charges for the record.
In that case, I'd make the suggestion that Bob simply take your information and go from there. Histories are bad things, and even you and I have a negative history, but it does not prevent me from accepting useful information in a neutral light. Thanks for clarifying.

Maybe the person who claims to have IP information traffic information sent it to Conason. Ya never know!!!
Well, it may be that I get spooked when known antifreepers always seem to rush in to defend 'tooth. If he doesn't wants his motivations questioned, maybe he should cultivate a better caliber of supporter.
Thanks for the link. That is a damn good ad.
In the best interest of FR,
why not pass your information
PRIVATELY?
Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice!

Oooooh! Ouch! This guy is maaad. Tough breaks. (snigger snigger)
No matter what you think about swiftvets (truth or right-wing hit job), you just can't avoid the fact that John Kerry made this bed with his own hands.
This is in fact the bottom line . And in true sociopath fashion he will continue to lie , live in denial and he will continue to blame others . This technique has worked for others in the past but this time his ass is nailed .
Conason is such a girly man.
