This excuse for an American, is bashing GWB for seven minutes of silence when even Katie Couric didn't think it was a terror attack...
The seven minutes came after the second plane hit and everyone knew it was an attack.
But the seven minutes argument is just so stupid anyway. The decision was made that the president must move, but the president of the US and his entourage dont just drop what their carrying and run screaming off into random directions. While Bush sat there with the kids, planes were being prepared, information was being gathered, risk assessments were being done, police motorcades were being organized, plans were being made. And Bush remained calm while those actions were being taken.
Seven minutes after they learned about the second plane, the presidential entourage was ready to roll, and the president excused himself from the classroom and left.
Bush is the decision maker, not the doer. Kerry's only leadership experience is as a lieutennant - a doer, someone who scrambles after the generals decide what is to be done. So it's natural he doesn't grasp why Bush sat there. And it reveals volumes as to his lack of leadership skills to be the top decision maker.
Ah, so the chronology says this...
Well, I've been wrong before...
If you ask certain FReepers, I shouldn't even BE here... (G)
Someone should do a commercial about what Bill Clinton did after the first WTC attack. Something along the lines of the presidential limo rocking back and forth with a secrect service agent pacing back and forth. Maybe with a sound bite of "Every since Viagra came out it takes forever to get a chance to tell him about terrorist attacks."
Great point.
Being able to calmly consider the situation while maintaining the facade of business as usual, rather than bolting from th room screaming "the sky is falling" as Kerry apparently would have, showed both the students, the attending press, and eventually, the world, that he does not panic.
Bush was also criticized for taking to long to strike back at the terrorists (the day before he did it, LOL). But imagine the "cowboy" smears if he just started shooting first and asking questions later.
Moore and his Kerry puppet are barking up the wrong tree here. While Moore can edit the film to show what he wants rather than the truth, the teacher actually in that room, who did not vote for him by the way, remarked how calmly he handled the situation.
Regarding Moore, he and his fantasy were remarked on by Andrea Mitchell this morning on Imus; "factually incorrect and misleading" were her terms for Moore's fantasy work. "Edits out of context sentences" and "documentaries are expected to be factual" also crossed her lips. Don't know what got into her this morning.
