Did they mention Sandy Berger even once? I doubt it.".

Kerry must explain himself. Why did he hunt down a wounded VC teen and machinegun him in the back?

Tim Russert shot Campbell Brown's lame attempt to defend Kerry out of the water. He said the issue that Kerry tried to seize from Bush has backfired and the President is stronger than ever. This isn't what the Today Show was looking for. Its not been a good first week for the Democrats since their Convention ended last Thursday.

Did Russert have any comments about the swift boats ad?

Its not been a good first week for the Democrats since their Convention ended last Thursday. I think that the stench of a loser is starting to settle on Kerry. Note that as part of Giuliani's response to Kerry's attack on W for his reaction on 9/11, Rudy said that "Kerry must be frustrated" when he adopts such tactics.
In other words, Kerry knows he's going down and is starting to panic. When Rudy can slip that kind of assertion into his statement and not be called on it, you know that it has become part of conventional wisdom. That is devastating for Kerry.

They showed part of the video on a national network?
Cool!

Frankly I can't remember Russert's response on the swift boat ads. It was nothing remarkable. Certainly didn't condemn the ad or say Bush must apologize. I think his response was more along the lines of the ad showing how the campaign is heating up on both sides.

I think that is what he was saying when he claimed he would lead a "sensitive" war against terrorism....

The White House has already given a response to the Swift Boat commercial. It's just not the response the media wants to hear.

LOL and it fits, cause it is not the "terrorists" that he see as the enemy.

Tim Russert shot Campbell Brown's lame attempt to defend Kerry out of the water. Campbell Brown is assigned to the WH ... she makes no pretense whatsoever covering her disdain for Bush. At a WH news conference awhile back President Bush was taking questions, Campbell Brown was picked to ask a question (which I don't recall) the expression on her face and the tone of her voice, her overall demeanor, projected absolute contempt. This woman has lost all objectivity ... she needs to be employed elsewhere.
