The KISS Army vs the Springsteen Legion, huh?
Do we have to choose now? Can I wait till The Ray Coniff Singers come down on one side? I feel like holding out for them.

Once again, Gene lives up to his rebellious nature and goes against the usual entertainment industry conformity.
Gene Simmons is a true rebel.

This'll give away my age for sure. I've seen Kiss two times. I think both times were in 1975, though possibly the second time was early 1976. First time was with "Rush" and "The Heavy Metal Kids". Second time they came to town was with "Rush" and "Mott the Hoople."
Seems I can't remember much from the actual concert... :)

Hehehe.....didn't see that one coming!
The first Album I ever bought was Kiss Alive....I've seen them in concert 8 times over the last 25 years and was a member of the Kiss army for years as a kid.
They probably had to go back to wearing make up to hide their age!

Gene has been a standup and righteous guy for some time. Here's an item from Newsmax in 2003 that might warm the cockles of Freepers:

THE LEFT COAST REPORT
A Political Look at Hollywood
Gene Simmons may be best known for his makeup-wearing, tongue-contorting antics as part of the rock group Kiss. But theres more to the guy than meets the theatrical eye.
Born Chaim Witz from Haifa, Israel, Simmons is highly educated and speaks four languages. He has some pithy statements on his Web site that others in the entertainment field might try reading.
On U.S. history, Simmons posts, If you don't have the guts to stand up to injustice, where ever it exists (and that means stopping the Germans, the Japanese and the Italians in WW I and WW II ... or the Albanian Serbs in Bosnia ... or the tragedies that keep on occurring in Africa ... or even the Viet Nam War ... Panama ... North Korea ... the list goes on and on) ... One thing in common with all these events: AMERICA. America didn't stay and conquer ANY OF THESE COUNTRIES.
As for fellow libs in the entertainment biz, Simmons says that hes ashamed to be surrounded by people calling themselves Liberal who are, in my opinion, spitting on the graves of brave American soldiers who gave their life to fight a war that wasn't theirs ... in a country they've never been to ... simply to liberate the people therein.
The rocker makes an appeal to those who hold fast to an appeasement mentality: The answer to any doubters lies in watching Iraq's people dancing in the streets.
I have to tell you, Simmons is a fellow musician. I had the chance to meet him several years ago at a number of venues where we both played. He always exuded an intelligence that his stage persona just didnt reveal.
The Left Coast Report notes that now hes demonstrating wisdom as well.

I would love to see Gene kick Springsteen's a$$ on stage!Gene's easily the brawnier of the two:
Bruce Springsteen: 5'8", 55 years old.
Gene Simmons: 6'2", 55 years old.
I say: bring it on. :)

Ironically, I grew up in N.J. and was a big Kiss fan when I was a kid. I HATED Loose Bedspring not just because he sucked then and still does...but all of these losers I went to school with actually liked hearing Whisky voice and that horrible crappy music! There is something wrong with those people!

HA HA HA HA got to love it, Gene recently compared the War on Terror to having to call an exterminator to kill the Cockroaches. He said you want an exterminator, not someone to talk to them.
Oh another note, They're doing a great tribute to the Troops on the current "Rock the Nation" tour, using the song "War machine" and lots of images of the troops in th war on terror on the 3 Jumbotrons!
yes..a member of the Kiss Army for 28 yrs, Veteran of 11 concerts..and ready and willing to kick the "boss"s butt *L*
