Persistence
8-6-04 | Bob J

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not, nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination are omnipotent.

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
Success begins with free will. It's all about a state of mind.
Life's battles are not always won by the strongest or the fastest.
Sooner or later the person who wins is the person who thinks he can.

Whatever.

From an unsolicited email to an account that I've guarded for some time and never given out to anyone other than close friends:

Friends,

Last year in March/April we sponsored an event called "The Rally for America" to demonstrate support for our troops when the left and the media were trying to propagandize and derail that effort. Over a month's time there were over 200 rallies held in cities around the country with most of them posted on our RFA website. Some were organized by people like Glenn Beck and Clear Channel, many of them organized by chapters in Free Republic and other associated groups. Our estimate had over 250,000 people attending these rallies and marches.

This year, we have teamed up with FIT-AIM-ACT, the SAFE Foundation, Move America Forward and other groups to launch the "National March Against Terror" on September 11. As with the Rally for America, we hope to stage hundreds of rallies around the country demonstrating grass roots support for the War on Terror, just before the election when it will be needed most.

Check out the post on the FR Forum at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1167826/posts

Our website is at http://www.nationalmarchforterror.org/ where you can get additional details.

Thanks in advance!

Cordially,

Bob Johnson
Director
Free Republic Network

As I said, please take me off of your list.

That would be the FRN email list that I imagine you signed up for at one time. No problem, in fact I will make special, super duper effort to make sure you are removed.

Can you please tell me if "nunya bidness" is the screen name you signed up as?

I never signed up for anything, and never offered or mentioned my email addy to anyone on this forum. How did you and/or the Network get my address?

A chapter leader may have submitted it, thinking you were a member. Maybe Merc put you down as a member of the RadioFR team? Boy, that was a mistake, huh?

Maybe you should reply to the email you received so that you might be more easily removed. Sometimes names get stuck on lists and lists can be long and a pain to scan to edit -- who knows whose addy's whose...

If you don't want to reply to it -- and unless you want to give your super secret email addy away here on this thread -- perhaps FReepmail might serve your purpose better.

xo!

We also have a "GDI" list for people that sign up but have no chapter. Whatever, there is no way to get on the FRN list unless you signed up yourslef or a Chapter Leader added you as a member.

I don't think I'm going to be able to fix this, as I am not an officer of the FRN anymore, maybe you should email Nick Danger directly. He handles the admin of the website.

That's true. I believe each email has that "opt out" feature. Wonder why boy wonder didn't use that?

I don't know or care how the FRN came to have my address. Please ask your webmaster to remove my name and email address.

Thanks.
