John Kerry speaks Thursday to the Unity 2004 conference of minority journalists in Washington.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said Thursday he would have handled news of the al Qaeda attacks on New York and the Pentagon differently than President Bush did. "I would have excused myself from the classroom quickly," said Kerry.

That's no problem with Depends.
I have to admit that it is curious that Bush took seven minutes to excuse himself from the classroom. I can understand sitting there for a minute -- MAYBE for two, max -- but SEVEN?? If it took Bush that long to decide to leave, that's just strange. It's not like he was mulling over dozens of options or anything -- at that point, he had no information on what was going on beyond the fact that probable terrorists had flown planes into the twin towers! It is strange.
I for one question the timing of John Kerry's statements.
ARLINGTON, VA -- In response to Senator Kerry's remarks this morning, Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani issued the following statement:
"John Kerry must be frustrated in his campaign if he is armchair quarterbacking based on cues from Michael Moore. John Kerry is an indecisive candidate who has demonstrated an inconsistent position on the War on Terror, who voted against funding for our troops at war and who cannot give a clear answer on his position concerning the decision to remove Saddam Hussein."
It wasn't like he sat there blank faced. I am sure since this was an unplanned emergency..there had to be decisions made of where he was going, the plane had to get ready, etc.
I am suprised it ONLY took seven minutes.
You don't know that. At that point it could have been anyone. He gets briefings that you're not privy to.
BTTT!!!!
Do you have a link to that thread? I would love to have those Kerry quotes filed away.
Kerry is becoming a target rich environment in a free-fire zone.
7 minutes is quick when America in an unplanned emergency.
Imagine all the preparations that were thrown out the window in order that new ones be made.
Never mind--I see the quote posted down thread. Will mark.
John Kerry is sick.
What do you suggest he should have done? Run screaming from the room.
I stood here in the living room for at least an hour that day with my mouth hanging open.
I was reading that thread and Kerry's quotes sounded eerily similiar to Saddam's.
Kerry needs to be out of US politics all together.
Love your tagline!
He's unbalanced and unworthy!
Along with Daschle, Kennedy, Boxer, McCain, etc.
Marking Kerry's comments
(BTW, how DARE you ask him to act by the standards he sets for President Bush!)
Kerry should be the UN candidate.
He's
Unworthy
Unfit
Useless
Unbalanced!
Unabashedly liberal!
