"Kerry:
And as I came in [to a meeting in Sen. Daschles office], Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon
(emphasis added)."
Good catch. And this was, what, only three weeks ago or so. Liars that have comes as far as Kerry usually keep their lieing ducks in a row. This interview also included the infamous "...they offered to brief me but I didn't have the time..." line.
What a traitor and what a maroon.
"You weren't the President."
"I love W and think he's done a fine job but I've got questions about sticking around there too. I think Card or one of the Secret Service should have told him "We've gotta go."
So are you saying to one Freeper that they weren't the President therefore they don't know why W did what he did, but then you, someone who is obviously not the President, do know what the President should have exactly done.
No offense but that's really some standard circular liberal speak.
This is despicably low, even for Democrats, and a sure sign of desperation.
According to carping liberal relatives who wanted to tell me all about Fahrenheit 9/11 - this is the centerpiece of the whole "argument" against Bush. "He sat there and look dazed for 7 minutes!" they triumphantly announce.
No kidding. The first plane into the World Trade Center was thought to be an accident. Bush sat there and was in shock about the loss of life in this disastrous accident. There's nothing a President can personally do, until later - when he would tour the site and release Federal Disaster funds. When was the last time a President flew straight into a hurricane to see the damage it was causing to the populace?
If it was Bill Clinton, the lights of opportunity for public lip-biting and maudlin utterances of "Ahh feel yer pain" would fire up in his eyes, and he would be stampeding to Air Force One to display his sick slick-shtick on the Oprah show.
Only the smallest and most twisted of characters would ever taunt and criticize a President for being quietly dazed and shocked over a massive loss of life, due to what was thought to be an accident.
The first was a response to #53, my point being that while we were all shocked and many watched the TV frozen (apparently what Kerry was doing by the way), that as a leader, you are held to a different standard. It might have been OK for Kerry to watch TV for 40 minutes or most of us to stare at the scene but not if we had something that needed to be done.
In the second post, my comment was directed to Card and the Secret Service, not a criticism of W. If Card said, "We're under attack and we're working the plan to get to AF One, hold on." no problem. If Card just popped in and said "We're under attack." and zipped back out of the room, I certainly have a problem with that. Any leader needs information in order to make a good decision.
In yet another post, I offered that no one knows what was said prior to the President going into the room (post first attack) and perhaps he was told that they were getting more information but to sit tight until they got the security situation under control. If so, no problem at all with hanging tight.
The pained and concerned look on the President's face is certainly not something to be held up for ridicule and Moore is a second guessing blob of an a**hole, I think we can agree on that. Man in the arena and all of that.
Breaking out the L word on me is nasty though...
Credit should go to Howlin for finding the Kerry quote on what he was doing the morning of 9/11.
