Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has received the bulk of its donations from well-known Texas Republicans. The group reported $158,750 in donations from April 30 to June 30, 2004. Of that amount, $100,000 came from Texas developer and Republican activist Bob Perry. Another $50,000 came from two other individual contributors with Republican Party ties, John O'Neill and Harlan Crow, who gave $25,000 each.

Yeah, this guy Perry seems like a real right wing fringe job:

The Kerry campaign sure saw this ad coming for quite a while if they had long enough to prepare a 36-page rebuttal.

That convention speech may have been the beginning of the rebuttals - eh?

The RATs think nothing of having the 527 Moveon.com and Soros heavily backing financially their crude anti-Bush ads, but when they see something they don't like, they threaten to sue. Is there such a thing as the First Amendment anymore?

Well at least very few people watch MSNBC. Maybe he'll do better in future debates.

They are getting reallllly nervous and hot and bothered over in "enemy territory" right at this exact moment, ( i.e., Democratic Underground forum):

"More evidence it is a smear. More evidence that it is the same people that smeared McCain. Nice going repukes, watch this backfire on your asses. "

and

"Remember how they'd refuse air time to MoveOn ads, on the basis that they were unsuitable for their audience? Apparently, this kind of bullshit is among what they find suitable"

and

"has any CBS affiliate run this ad yet? Would be real interesting to see if they will run a libelous smear ad in light of the "corporate policy" that led them to disallow MoveOn's super bowl ad citing factual information regarding the deficit. "

etc. etc. barf, barf

They're hammering on the funding of this group, yet no one ever says anything about the funding left wing groups get from George Soros et al.

Or specifics on the alleged "atrocities" his brothers-in-arms committed? (Names, dates, specific atrocities).

Kerry can try to run on his Vietnam record, but he can't HIDE from it either!

In fairness to Kerry - who I am 100% convinced lied about his actions - it can be very hard to document things years later. I have an Air Medal whose citation has no connection with reality. 1 1/2 years after the paperwork was submitted, I heard the citation read - wrong base, wrong dates, etc - but 1 1/2 years had gone by, I hadn't kept any documentation, and the squadron had been disbanded and another unit moved into our old building.

It wasn't a medal for valor - it was just X sorties flown under certain conditions - and I knew I had done the sorties, so I left it.

Of course, I don't run around claiming to be a hero, either. Damning to Kerry is that other crews operating in the same action have no record in their logbooks of the events Kerry claimed.

Huge difference between not keeping your paperwork, and lying to create the paperwork in the first place!

It is my understanding that the Swift Vets sent the materials to the TV and Radio people accompanied with 60+ pages of affidavits, medical records and military records to back up their claims. What has Kerry submitted for his proof?

"In a civil suit, both sides have the right to discovery:"

Then the SBV should sue Kerry and the DNC for what is said of them in that fax.

I wonder if there is any recorded instance of any military member in Vietnam that ever received 3 purple Hearts a Bonze Star AND a Silver Star in 4 months other than Kerry.
