There is a time for everything. Bush & company have it completely mapped out. Bush will run a very disciplined campaign just like he did in 2000. You mean the one where Bush had a fairly comfortable lead only to win in a nail-biter that drug out over a month? Let's hope the planning is a little better. Kerry may be a marginally weaker candidate than Gore (both are pretty bad), but the level of Bush-hatred out there balances that out. If Gore had been a little better in the debates we would have President Gore and would be speaking Arabic.

It seems much more effective to do commercials pointing at Kerry's flipper stance on everything. Pick an issue, show how Kerry voted for both sides of it, and at the end, ask the voters what they think Kerry will decide to do tomorrow. Kerry actually has been pretty consistant in his liberal voting, the problem is his rhetoric does not match his votes. Kerry claims to be against gay marriage, but has an unblemished pro-gay marriage voting record.

I hope those of you among the "President Bush isn't doing anything to counter the Kerry lies" contingent are taking heart. There may never have been a candidate more vulnerable, from so many directions, than J-F-Kerry. The Bush campaign
has to pace itself, in effect propping Kerry up long enough to destroy him.
It's looking more and more like the President's team is running a careful, layered, sequenced playbook that will deliver a decisive, lawyer-proof win in November.

Scary/Backwards 2004. Help is on the way (if you are a terrorist)! Help is on the way "if you are in need of welfare" Kerry's absent from Senate votes is about as good as Dickie Gebhardt's record. The votes they do make are the most telling of the record. Socialist to the core!
