Encourage Alan Keyes to Run for Illinois Senate Seat
Alan Keyes not only is the senator Illinois needs, he is the leader America must have in the U.S. Senate to help preserve our Constitution and American principles.
Asked to shoulder the formidable task of running against Illinois State Sen. Barack Obama, Keyes promised his answer by Sunday. Let's encourage the former ambassador not only to say "Yes!" but to boldly stand up for what's right and fight to a resounding victory this November! Encourage Keyes, a two-time presidential hopeful, by signing this petition urging him to answer Illinois' call and run for the Senate seat.

I urge you to answer the call of Illinois' Republican leaders and enter the race to fill the seat of retiring Sen. Peter Fitzgerald. You have the experience and qualifications needed not only by Illinois but by all of America. This is a tremendous chance to stand up and fight in the Senate for what you know is right!

Republican corruption and incompetence in Illinois is legendary. You would do best to lay low and hope nobody notices .
Some of us are trying to fix that, don'tcha know!

I live in Illinois. I was stunned when the paper this morning said that Alan Keyes had to think about accepting. This is so typical of the Illinois GOP. Just what we need-another high profile person turning down the nomination. I am very disheartened living in Democratland. Who in their right mind will support the Illinois GOP. It's a joke!
Someone mentioned yesterday that this might in fact help the turnout and at least keep the Kerry Illinois count from being such an embarassment to the President. I don't think the President should waste any time or money in Illinois though and for pete's sake don't let Keyes spend any weekends in Wisconsin trying to reach the flatlanders up watching the Brewers....and the Packers.
You got that right. We're better off conceding this seat and hoping Illinois GOP can fix itself in the 6 years he'll be in office.

man, Illinois republicans are a depressing lot. all i am here is whinning and complaining. If you think you have it bad , i am from taxachusetts and republicans here are not this depressing
