If Obama is from Hawaii --- then what is the problem with Keyes being from Maryland?Obama is from Hawaii in the sense that he was born in Hawaii. Keyes is from Maryland in the sense that he lives there now, and has for many, many years.

If Obama is from Hawaii --- then what is the problem with Keyes being from Maryland? Good question!
Obama isn't an Illinois son. However, he has lived there for something like 10 years or so. I read that he worked heavily in the '90s to get out the vote for the Clinton campaign in Illinois. Maybe that's where he earned his name recognition.

The hypocricy here and the abject lack of knowledge about Ill. politics,is stunning!
To: Howlin; All
There is just something that really gets to me when I get the feeling that people have been raised to run and/or they have wanted to be president all their lives.
It's just not right.???
OK, everybody....
What happened to the REAL Howlin???
And who's this imposter who's posting using her screen name?
To: Howlin
I think you are going to be surpised by this election, the RATS are playing for control of the house and senate so "if" Hitlery wins in 08 her agenda can sail through.

"As you know I prefer a Democrat Senate and House anyway, but still want President Bush in the White House"
Would you care to expound on that statement a little bit. Perhaps explain your reasoning? Not to take up too much time, I am a Democrat and believe that Republicans are useless as legislators and garbage pickup and and superior at the executive level...hence the White House.
I'm also old fashioned enough to believe that having the same party in control of everything is a recipe for disaster...that is of course confirmed by the fact that Rumsfeld is still in office.

"Obama came to Illinois to go to College and stayed."
Actually, I believe he went to Columbia University (in NYC) and Harvard Law, so he must have moved to Chicago after he graduated from law school.

I am a Bush fan; never denied it.
He wasn't raised for POTUS.

Keyes was all over the cable shows, just after President Bush took office, talking him down and complaining about the president. During the 2000 recount, Keyes refused to criticize Gore on how he was trying to steal the election. I remember him specifically avoiding any questions on the subject, on the cable shows.
Seemed like a malcontent.
To: Rate_Determining_Step
This "him getting stomped" seems perhaps a bit premature... I hope you're right. I just can't see Keyes winning at this point.

At least with Keyes, the GOP won't come in third place like they would have with Barthwell. I wouldn't bet on that, but nevermind. That man thrives on losing. And he'll sure find uses for donations!
