It's official! Yahoo!
"I would urge you to vote for Taff if he does end up on top though just to get a Repub in there."
Sorry, I don't hold my nose when I go to the ballot box. :)
Yes, but it ought be a state where the GOP could add a seat and is in some danger of not doing so now. I'd rather have him than Trent Lott too but it is a Republican seat.
I think he might have been best used to destroy Blanch Lincoln in Arkansas who is getting FAR too easy a ride...otherpossibilities include North Carolina and Louisiana where the GOP candidate may win, but who is certainly not inspiring big confidence among out of state observers.
Re your #1350 (is this thread setting a record, or what?);
"Keyes is a 2 time loser in his own state of Maryland - why would he do better in Illinois?"
I don't think any Republican, much less a REAL "conservative" one is going anywhere politically from MD any time soon.
Like in our lifetimes...
It seems to this casual observer that if Dr. K. has any political ambitions whatsover, that he needs to pack up the truck and make an Exodus West or South... and don't plan on stopping right away.
Unless it's to use the facilities and carb up & lube the kids at a roadside MacDonald's .
Just keep driving untill someone is glad to see him.
He could probably use some donations to help with the truck rentals, fuel and tolls, BTW. I'll bet he could even get a few loyal FReepers to help with the unpacking once the Keyes find a prospective new home in the Promised Land... wherever that is.
No doubt the MD DU-ers would be more than happy to help him move out of MD, and would get the job done in record time.
I don't know much about the political climate in IL, but it seems to me that he could find a more logical State from which to take another shot at an election.
But it ain't gonna be MD, IMHO.
I find it interesting that his detractors call Dr. KEYES a "Two time loser"; But consider this, O ye of little faith; how many times did "The Great Emancipator", Abraham Lincoln (also a Republican, in case anyone has forgotten) "lose" before Providence (and NOT the one in RI, BTW) opened the door of destiny to him?
And the rest, as they say, is History.
"I find it interesting that his detractors call Dr. KEYES a "Two time loser";..."
The statement of a fact is not detracting - how would you describe his prior election results, underacheiving? He would do much better in TX or MS, but he might not want to leave his home for that.
Lincoln was a loser before becoming a winner - a great story. How many others can you name with the same happy ending?
If you are exaggerating, and you said you are, then by definition you are not merely partaking in "factual commentary."
Keep up the good work though on the campaigning that you do. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to have fun with all of this later.
I lived in South Carolina for many years and I can tell you that here in TN...they are very close in taste and texture.
Keyes might not win this one, but he'll make that slippery liberal orator expose his true views. Go Keyes!
No doubt! If anyone could draw a clear contrast, Keyes can. The debate/s would be fascinating.
This site has links to many recent Keyes speeches!

Obamasama said he would debate anybody 6 times. THEN he found out it would be Keyes. Its down to maybe 2 times. Last report is Oby is in Canada, must be joining up with the rest of the AWOLs.
Keyes will crush Obama.
