WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The man arrested in Pakistan...[idenified as Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan]...told interrogators al Qaeda uses Web sites and e-mail addresses in Turkey, Nigeria and tribal areas of Pakistan to pass messages among themselves...[c]ouriers were often used to deliver computer discs, and Khan would then post the messages on Web sites, but only briefly...after messages were sent and read, the files were deleted...e-mail addresses were used only two or three times; if the information was really sensitive, an address might be used only once.

Much of the surveillance of possible terror targets in New York, Newark, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C., took place before September 11, 2001, but there was an indication of reconnaissance updates as recently as January, Bush administration officials said Tuesday...[s]ome of the photos were years old, while others had been taken as recently as the past few months, the official said. Some images showed underground garages, leading to the conclusion those areas had been under surveillance... "These reports are extraordinarily detailed," Townsend said. Wonder if AQ tried to Freep occasionally and were zotted? No doubt, the computer geek had Moveon.Org on their FAVORITES file. Seriously though, hope this find breaks up a big chunk of Al Qaeda.

I still cannot understand why we do not have an announced retaliation target list, which would include the "palaces" of all the Saudi "royals" who are financing this jihad, the madrasses that are producing the jihadis (some in Pakistan are very large and stationary), and mosques where they get together to spread their ideology of Islamic Supremacism. When any terrorism occurs, we would demolish 25 or so sites. Another attack, 25 more targets. We need to give the financeers some motivation to rein in their own attackers, and put some actual shock and awe into the juvenille legions. Right now they get to play-act and they suffer very few costs and consequences. They think they can make over the world to conform to their fantasies, and it is up to us to teach these wild boys that they cannot.

I am not the Prez, or his cabinet staff, or anyone for that matter. I don't know how to answer your points but IMO I think Afghanistan and Iraq were good openers in the ongoing negotiations. At least it seems to have helped Kha-daffy and his terrorist system.
