Wow...from your article:

"For example, the fabled and distinguished chief of naval operations (CNO), Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, told me -- 30 years ago when he was still CNO -- that during his own command of US naval forces in Vietnam, just prior to his anointment as CNO, young Kerry had created great problems for him and the other top brass, by killing so many non-combatant civilians and going after other non-military targets."

I doubt there was a true embargo on the book....he is just saying since he got an advanced copy, he won't wait until it comes out to report on it.

HEY FREEPERS,

I just thought about something....
The claims that Kerry did not get wounded in an area that was under fire....MATCH WHAT THE GOOD DOCTOR WHO RECENTLY EXPOSED KERRY SAID.
He stated that two people who were in the area with Kerry told him that they were not in a fire zone.

"They have absolutely no right to complain after they touted and delighted in the lies and propaganda of Michael Moore."

You are absolutely right. This criticism is being made by **those who served with Kerry**. This is a whole different perspective than just some people speculating.

My Vietnam experience and that of my comrades is sacred. If I lied about my experiences in order to benefit, those I served with would have every right to shed light on any deceit.

The Kerry campaign is planning to vigorously counter the charges and will accuse the veteran's groups of being well-financed by a top Bush donor from Texas, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Again a left wing nut claims accusations are the result of a right wing finance plot. Shades of Richard Mellon Scaife.

Kerry makes me sick.

How low can they go?

Very good question. Lets pass it on to Michael Moore.

"He mentioned that Kerry might have fired a grenade (not sure what type of launcher would be involved) at some rocks to receive his superficial wounds, for which he sought purple hearts."

I believe that Kerry was firing an M79 grenade launcher which fires a 40mm projectile. The high explosive round explodes on impact and is armed approximately 15 meters after it leaves the barrel and the weapon is fairly accurate to 350 meters. It was possible to use the M79 as an indirect fire weapon (mini-mortar) by elevating the barrel and using Kentucky windage to "walk" rounds to the desired target.....needless to say, it would be unadvisable to attempt to engage close-in targets using this method ; >)

All he has to do is release the med records.

Yeah, right:

"Men who have had gonorrhea are more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer according to new research from the
University of Michigan."

To be non-liberal, that is, honest, I'll add the disclaimers:

"Further studies are needed to determine whether gonorrhea or other STD's actually cause prostate cancer, the researchers say."

And FWIW, the study was of those of African descent. Um, make that black African descent.

hmmm, looks like it could be a "Mr. Garrison" link. :-))

And if that other story on Drudge comes true, the one about planned attacks in NY in early Sept. when Bush will be addressing the convention, I would think the nation would be outraged and angry beyond belief. Besides being reelected in a landslide, Bush would have the country's backing to do anything and everything possible in retaliation.

Possibly true.
Look at the attention I gave Moore's book....
Shredded it, set it on fire, and then urinated on the ashes.

Regarding John Kerry's anti-war activities and slander of his fellow servicemen:

"It is a fact that in the entire Vietnam War we did not lose one major battle. We lost the war at home... and at home, John Kerry was the Field General."

From the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth site:

I dunno.... It could be worse. At least no one is calling him AWOL....

GOOD point. Let the dems squeal like the pigs they are. They have pulled out all the stops trying to destroy our President. Payback's a Hillary!.

Terry McAuliffe, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, promoted Kerry's candidacy and attacked President Bush's military record in a broadcast interview. "I look forward to that debate when John Kerry, a war hero with a chest full of medals, is standing next to George Bush, a man who was AWOL in the Alabama National Guard," said McAuliffe. "George Bush never served in our military in our country. He didn't show up when he should have showed up. And there's John Kerry on the stage with a chest full of medals that he earned by saving the lives of American soldiers."

"All he has to do is release the med records. It would discredit this book in an instant...if it isn't true."

Exactly what I was thinking. He also needs to file the sf180 to release all records, if he really wants to try to restore credibility, if that's possible. This would clear up all the questions about his other medals.

This is exactly what he deserves for not releasing all his records from the beginning, and then campaigning as a war hero. If he is actually hiding this information, as we all expect, he could have released it on his own terms.

I think this is the beginning of the end for John Kerry. Good Riddance.

Yes, thanks, I remember Steven Gardiner mentioning the M-79 grenade.

Not sure if the guy's name is spelled as above or as "Gardner". I'll try to find out.

"As far as selecting a "successor," I'm not sure how that would happen. A lot of this depends on deadlines in individual states to get candidates on ballots."

IIRC during the summer of 2000 someone on FR came up with Hillary being registered as a presidential candidate. They posted the Fed site showing it. I don't know what effect that would have on state ballots. It would be interesting to know.
