"What's your take on the 'bounce' or lack thereof? Or is it too soon to have accurate polls?"

Well remember that the Kerry camp claimed that no one "knew" Kerry before the convention, and that their goal was to introduce Kerry to the American public. THEN, after the introduction, BUSH got a bounce (by some accounts)! Now Democrats are trying to claim that this race was tight all along, and THAT is why there was no bounce. So which is it: either they didn't know Kerry and didn't like him once they got to know him, or he didn't excite them enough to change any minds. Either way, Kerry loses.

I firmly expect Bush to get a bigger bounce from his convention. Not just because I support him 110%, but I believe that things will begin to improve for Bush in the weeks ahead, and then America will be reminded for the first time in a long time what a great leader Bush has been. He has endured over a year and a half of relentless attacks with little or no response. I think the Republican convention, which will better portray the mainstream of the party than the dems did, will appeal more to the average American. If anything, I think that many democrats, especially those anti-war dims (and there are a LOT of them) will feel a sense of betrayal by their own party and will stay home in November.

I believe that this election is Bush's to lose, and that he will appeal more to the average American at his convention. Kerry was a puppet- they all were- every speaker at that convention. They said what others told them to say. President Bush speaks from the heart and I think Americans who have forgotten that will re-connect with him.

I agree with your assessment!

My only concern relative to the Republican Convention is the MSM! I just know they paln to give the demonstrators 90% of their attention and the Republicans (President Bush) 10% -- THINK CHICAGO 1968!!!!

Yes indeed and those that speak from the heart will appeal to the undecided. Dick Cheney also will do likewise and will appeal to the intellectuals once they start to hear him
