I think the Republican ticket gained some votes with this interview.
The 'independent' and 'undecided' women who can recognize the difference in character between Laura and Theresa.

Didn't you love the Vogue photographs of the twins ?

I am so proud of having a signed thank-you note from Laura Bush when she was TX's 1st lady. Have it framed over the fireplace.

Oh yes. For those who didn't see them, it was their first formal photo shoot EVER.
The article was very flattering. They picked the gowns off a clothes rack, it wasn't really their taste.
"But they are unfailingly polite and apparently good sports, so they agree to give the gowns a go. (snip) Jenna looks at her sister, whose tight-bodiced white satin number boasts a skirt better suited to a Velazquez infanta. "Mom" she asks, "do we look like cupcakes?" "Yes," says the First Lady, "you do."
She sounds like a really sweet Mom.

Off the subject of the First Lady, but is anybody listening to li'l Bobby Kennedy hysterically lying his ass off on Hannity & Commie? 20 years as an enviral activist? The little bastard needs to be exposed to a real job.
To: spectre
What a joy it is to watch and listen to this beautiful, gracious LADY!
I caught a look at the rear and side view of Terayyza today and thought she oughta go to a fat farm for awhile...like 4 years...instead of running her mouth.
To: spectre
Yes, she does and it seems the girls have a very easy, comfortable relationship with her.

Yes, and a deeper level story is that she automatically turned to her Dad and copped to it. That kind of honesty in the moment is REAL honesty, and shows good character.
It was a good lesson for her, too, though ;-)

I think President Bush is now regularly using this line in his stump speeches:
"You need to re-elect me so that you can have four more years of Laura Bush as First Lady." It always gets big applause and laughter, as the audience catches on to what he is saying."

Laura says that she and the President wake up about 5am and then he get her coffee in bed. They then read the news papers and other briefing papers together, as they sit, together in their bed. TOGETHER!! She goes off to her office about 0700 and then works until the late afternoon when she returns "home" and waits for her HUSBAND TO COME HOME!! Hillary says that Bill goes to sleep on the couch around 5am after "briefing the interns". She then gets him coffee and pours it on his crotch. She goes to her office at 7am. Bill awakens around 9am to the sound of the first broken vase of the day smashing above his head. Hillary then pores through FBI files until the late afternoon when she returns "home" and waits for Bill to come in, fly unzipped, and throws another vase...
