I know what you mean.
I once had the pleasure of meeting the 2nd most decorated soldier of World War II. He was working as a laborer for a contractor in Orlando, FL. The contractor's son was getting married after graduating from The Citadel. Several of us from the "trade school" serving as the color guard in the ceremony and the bridesmaids had gone to his apartment as we had wanted to see his decorations. While we were there, one of the bridesmaids asked what the pretty one with the "Blue ribbon and white stars was for."
There was an audible groan from those of us who were in awe over the Congressional Medal of Honor he had on display before us.
His reply: "3rd place in the Fort Bragg horseshoes tournament."
Funniest line is the juxtaposition of swift boat captain with John F*ckin's ponderous, tortoise character. Can you say he is swift with thought? Decidedly not. But hey, he's good for the laughs.
