There is a Baptist minister by the name of James White who once debated Barry Lynn on the Biblical condemnation of sodomy.

Lynn went into the debate thinking that he was debating an uneducated redneck and that Lynn would crush him with critical scholarship.

White humiliated Lynn with his superior technical knowledge of Greek and his extensive study of the culture of Biblical times.

Lynn was so incensed by his flimsy case being so decisively demolished that he sued White to stop him from posting an unexpurgated transcript of the debate.

White only recently won the case.
