Heightened border security increasing smuggler violence
AP via SFGate ^ | 2 August 2004 | Amanda Lee Myers

As the U.S. Border Patrol steps up surveillance along the Arizona-Mexico border, immigrant smugglers are acting more violently toward agents, officials say. There have been about the same number of assaults this year as there were at this time in 2003, but the degree of violence is significantly higher, Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame said Monday.

As enforcement is beefed up in Arizona, the busiest illegal entry point along the 2,000-mile border, smugglers are getting more desperate, Adame said. "They're starting to see some losses," he said, "And when you talk financial gain with smugglers and the loss of it, they're going to react violently."

Somebody has to fight against the gabachos who interfere with international trade.

LOL Yeah. Those 20 year old lettuce pickers in Vegas are shooting each other nightly over field jobs. Trade must go on.

There must be a media blackout about this outside of the border states. The local leftist media here in St. Louis won't mention this.

The local rightest media won't tell you either. They just love that cheap labor, no matter what it costs us.

If your talking about the elitist at the WSJ, your right.

The paper of record here in St. Louis is a leftist paper who donates money to Kerry and the rats. Business journals here do promote cheap labor and won't mentions the pitfalls of illegal immigration but they just aren't in your face about it as the leftist.

"they'll apply RICO to any employer, confiscate his property and have him do mandatory jailtime. "

Spoken like a true union man. Punish employers.
Employers should not have the burden of law enforcement placed on them. Already they have to collect child support from employees, back taxes, criminal fines, alimony, social security payments; monitor probation rule compliances, perform background criminal checks; ensure licenses compliances ...

Now you want employers to enforce immigrations rules. Immigrants use fake SS cards and other people's IDs. They use fake, borrowed, altered, revoked and expired green cards. They lie about their immigration status. But you want to imprison anyone who hires someone out of status.

Who are you going to imprison in a fortune 500 corporation? The CEO? The vice-pres of human resources? The project manager? The shop supervisor?

What about companies that use subcontractors? Should they be imprisoned if some of the subs' employees are out of status?

And what about companies that buy raw material from companies that have out of status employees? Should Bill Gates be imprisoned because MS buys shipping boxes from a company that buys cardboard stock from a company that buys sawdust from a mill that buys trees from a wholesaler who buys them from a logging company that has some out of status employees?

Why not imprison everyone who buys products from companies that hire out of status employees? Everyone who buys a car made in America. Everyone who buys clothes made in America. Everyone who goes to a hospital. Everyone who drives on public highways.

The amazing thing is that one-fourth of one per cent of the electorate actually voted for Buchanan. Even if half the votes were mistakes, that still leaves a lot of idiots.

This Buchanan puke thinks you are an idiot since you are obviously willing to put profits ahead of the safety and sovereignty of this nation. Especially since we are seeing more and more that all other Americans are footing the bill for your 'cheap' labor. No nation needs foreign workers, that is nothing more than a ploy to hold down wages. Too bad for you since there will always be more employees than employers. It's open borders/free trade pukes like you that always give the dems a plank to run on.

"you are obviously willing to put profits ahead of the safety and sovereignty of this nation. "

We were just as safe and sovereign for most of our history when we allowed unlimited laborers from Mexico. Despite what Buchanan said, you are not more likely to choke on a meatball because the operator is bilingual.

Typical of Buchanan supporters to hate profits and want the government to force employers to pay them wages they don't deserve.

I like you. You're funny.

Charles Dickens could have used you as a recurring character in several books, with the reformed Ebenezer Scrooge as your nemesis.

So it really is all about money with you. The poor, down-trodden, persecuted illegal alien you show so much sympathy for is just another renewable resource. Use 'em up, burn 'em out, throw 'em a way, and wait for the next shipment. I'm just glad you didn't need them for their hides in a lamp shade factory.

God help us, because we can't help ourselves anymore!

Like hell. Just kick back, relax, put the most evil part of your imagination to work, and enjoy the ride.

These are still just the opening salvos.

Mexican immigrants who came here years ago to take the lowest paying, dirtiest, jobs in the worse conditions are now operating heavy construction equipment, overseeing crews, managing projects, acting as subcontractors and owning their own companies.

They no longer drive smoke belching multicolored old station wagons. They drive new Ram pickups and Land Rovers. Meanwhile, others who refused to work the low paying dirty jobs are still sitting around drinking beer and whining about illegals taking all the jobs while their wives wait tables to pay the rent on the mobile home. Then they wonder why their wives leave them for Hispanic men.

I don't know what part of the country you live in. But here, illegals are all riding in blown out 70's pick-up trucks loaded with push mowers. They pay no taxes, carry no insurance and live 25 or 30 to a house. I have friends in both the landscaping business as well as the construction business. A friend of mine has a video of a bunch of illegals who went to a local house to complete some landscaping (actually just cutting grass as none of these illegals has any education in horticulture) .....the video shows two of these guys slithering through a side window of a house next to where my friend was working. The illegals like to cut your grass and rob you of your silverware and jewelry. I guess they're just stealing stuff that American thieves are too lazy to steal. This video has been turned over to the Fairfield Police for investigation. It also shows these illegals crapping in the customers lawn....I guess thats a bargain, you get a little fertilizer along with the program.

......it gives a whole new meaning to "turd world nation".

Your friend is lying to you. Sounds like he is jealous of his Mexican competitors in the lawn mowing business. What state in Fairfied in? I'll call the police, tell them I'm doing research for web discussion, and ask if such a video was submitted to them. Can you call your friend and get a case number?

But I can almost guarantee you that your friend is lying. First, a "bunch" of Mexicans don't mow one lawn. At most a crew of three (two mowers and one edger)take about fifteen minutes to do the average subdivision lawn. Most services run two crews per truck, leapfrogging them. A single, two-crew truck can do forty yards per day. They don't have time to burglarize houses.

Secondly, your friend is lying when he says they can't do landscaping. Every service I've ever seen will mulch, aerate, pull weeds, sod, dig trenches, fertilize, plant shrubs; everything except irrigation and extermination unless they have the licenses. It's just your friend's ignorance or racism that leads him to assume that people who speak Spanish are too stupid to do anymore than mow. But he doesn't think they're too stupid to bypass alarm systems? Perhaps your friend is too stupid do do anything more than mow. But, don't take my word for it. Prove it to yourself. Simply go to the most expensive area of your city and look at some of the lawns that are maintained by Mexican lawn services.

Thirdly, if your friend had a video he would have given a copy to the home owner he claims was burglarized and the home owner would have been the one to file the complaint with the police.

Fourthly, if your friend had such a video, and was running around telling people about it, he would have hard copy prints that he would be showing people. But you haven't mentioned him showing you anything, much less posted any pictures.

But finally, your friend's statement that "The illegals like to cut your grass and rob you of your silverware and jewelry"is about the stupidest thing I've seen anyone not wearing a sheet say. Your friend is probably just a loser who needs someone to blame for his failures.

Your friend is a classic case of a xenophobe. You may want to be careful about who sees you talking to him. They might suspect that you are a xenophobe also.

"acting as subcontractors and owning their own companies."

I imagine most of us could drive new Ram pickups if we worked under the IRS radar and didn't pay taxes - like most of your beloved illegals do. While they're buying these new Ram pickups, who's paying for their wives' and children's medical care? Who's picking up the tab when one of their illegal-alien employees gets hurt and has to go to the ER? I'll tell you who - the law-abiding, tax-paying American contractors - that's who!

What about all the tax-paying American contractors that have obeyed the law for all these years and are now being put out of business by your wonderful illegal alien contractors? F*** em, right? That seems to be your stance on the subject.

Tell me, what line of business are you in? From the way you show up on all these illegal immigration threads, I'd say you're afraid your ox is going to be gored.

And his girlfriend is sucking up the welfare bennies because of their baby named Anchor. Place I used to work at had Mexican custodians and they drove better vehicles than my co-workers and they were tight lipped on how they afforded them.

Jeez, here we go with the Mexican thing again. What on earth is your particular hangup with Mexicans? Some strange fetish?
Actually, my friends name is John Sweeney, he has a degree in horticulture and owned one of the largest landscaping businesses in CT up until illegals undercut him out of business. I do know that he was pretty high up in the food chain because he used to be on some official "Board" dealing with landscaping businesses here in CT. Now he delivers landscaping materials to the few legit landscaping businesses left in this state. I'll call him and private mail you with his number, ok? If that is, he's at all interested in speaking with you. Fairfield Connecticut.....I'm sure you can look up police # through information. Either way, give me a little time to do some leg work and I'll piece together the EXACT details for you......regarding who filed the report etc.....ok?

....regarding subdivision lawns....LOL, obviously you've never been to Fairfield county CT. I'll give you a hint here.....a lot of "lawns" in Greenwhich, Easton, FFLd hills and Wesport are 10 to 20 acres. I'm beginning to think these "Mexicans" you love to refer to are superhuman. Perhaps I should be a scumbag and hire them, if they (three mexicans) can mow 20 acres in 15 minutes, I'll eat my shorts. Most burgluries in FFLD county in hi end homes actually take place when the occupants are home, at dinner time.....when the alarms are off. There was a report recently on local TV about this interesting twist to home invasion.

You sure are making some huge assumptions regarding my friend. He speaks fluent Spanish, even though he's an American of Irish decent. Most of his crew USED to be from spanish speaking couuntries, with one important distinction. He would go to the ends of the earth to make sure they were legal. If you have a $175,000.00 cherry picker on someones property and are cutting down big oaks, you really cannot trust that piece of equipment to an uninsured illegal. It's just common business sense. Again, if you want to operate a large crew of illegals around multi-million dollar homes and take the risk of having uninsured illegals in your business, it's up to you amigo. You most definately need licenses to apply pesticides, remove large trees etc in Connecticut. My friend has all the required licenses as well as a contractors license.

Hmmmmmm, my friends a loser? Yup, he sure is, he lives in a multi-million dollar home just off of Westport CT, club races a $60,000 Ducati, has a freakin huge powerboat in Westport harbour.....sounds like a racist xenophobic KKK guy to me!!!

NNNOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!

Nice try, but you failed miserably once again.
