Re Reincarnation of the infamous countdown clock: Reminder, Friday, August 6th at 8:16 a.m. Hiroshima time, is the anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bomb in 1945. If one is not too fussy about the international dateline, doesn't that make it about 8 PM New York time? (Just at the end of the window declared)...

If I recall correctly, 8:16 a.m. on 08.06 in Hiroshima is is 7:16 p.m. on 08.05 in NYC.

I *think* 6 Aug 8:15 AM Hiroshima IS 5 Aug 8:15 PM New York.
Now I'm confused. Anyone out there with more active brain cells or caffine on board???
