Bears?

There are bears in my yard every day. Occasionally the Game/Wildlife Dept. brings up a bear cage, catches a bear and hauls it to the higher mountains. The poor bears whine like a puppy when they are trapped in this large cage on wheels.

I do not take out the trash after dark. But, they won't bother you in the daytime if you make noise, like singing or rattling your car keys. Do you have bear bells?

Had a buddy stationed in Alaska. He used to tell me how he'd have to cover his wife with a .375 H&H Magnum as she took the trash out to the dumpster. Once a neighbor took this little chore for granted and when he opened the door/window on the dumpster a bear took his face off.

I have bearspray handy. We have grizzly in this area as well as black bear. In truth, I would love to be able to see them. We've not seen much sign of wildlife here except for moose and deer. The mountains are about 15 miles away, so I was surprised to see bear scat here on the plains. I am familiar with bear traps, as we've seen one used at a campsite in Canada where a bear ripped a neighboring tent to shreds.
