SCADA systems are dirt simple to hack. I've worked on a few that employ microwave radio towers to communicate with devices in the field. Big devices. Pumps with a 60 inch impeller driven by a 12 cylinder diesel engine. The systems were built on a real time ModComp UNIX system and coded with the kind of loving care you would expect from a summer intern writing a first big program in C. The "main()" on one application is over 3,000 lines long. No user written functions.

Thanks for the confirmation. I believe you when you make a statement. After researching 8/03 power blackout in the NE, I came to the conclusion that SCADA is hackable, depending on what system the SCADA boxes are connected to.
