RIP Esperanza

On August 22, 1954, on a visit to Caracas, Maria had a dream about a place where miracles would take place and where there would be an unusual blue butterfly. This turned out to be the apparition site now known as Betania near Caracas.

The Virgin Mary told her that she had a cause to “help me to save this lost world,” and so began Maria’s journey. It ended in the United States, where she was said to be on a special "mission." One of her last acts was to visit New York and pray around St. Patrick's Cathedral in mid-town Manhattan.
