the "Christian Identity" groups and the "National Council of Churches" aren't primarily political entities

I disagree, particularly for the latter. The NCC types are indeed primarily political entities, with the "spiritual" serving as a vehicle for promoting their political agenda.

I've never met any "social gospel" types who actually "believe in God". In fact, I recall once going up against one of them, and hearing him rail against "religionists"!

The context was surreal. It was a city commission public hearing. The reason? The "social gospel"-cum-leftist "churchmen" were trying to (hold on to your hat, folks!) -- they were trying to force the City government to force the local cable TV provider to force the Christian Broadcasting Network's signal off the air (in the local cable system) -- because it was a First Amendment violation, of course.

If that ain't "political", then nothing is!

Likewise the "other groups" (which I've traditionally, for convenience sake, viewed as sub-varieties of "American Nazi" types). Their goals, if viewed through a clinical eye, from the outside, are clearly "political", as they aim to change the very structure of the government to one in which they can enforce their world-view on everyone else.

Again, if that ain't politics (i.e., forcing one's world-view on everyone else), then nothing is.

I wonder what position these groups take on the mass murder of unborn children.

Yep. And the Christian Identity types are leftist nazis who, when away from their cover organization, will easily tell you they are atheists.

The WCC is also just as leftist, and only use mainstream denominations as their cover "to reinvent Christianity in their own image" just as the nazis did.
