The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

If anyone is in charge, they won't admit it. And I'm not just talking about the private facilities being wide open but the government facilities as well...

You know what I've noticed? [And this is a fact, not my bias!]----->
Everything that has to do with lawyers and money...capitol, the financial areas of new york, banks, insurance companies etc etc...are protected with LOTS of our tax money and resources...while everything that is MORE important to OUR security and safety as citizens and workers who depend on our employers like airlines etc...such as ports, airlines, air traffic control centers, tank farms, chemical plants, airport cargo areas....are left wide open.

Lawyers even get underground bunkers, yet we can survive without them...but not if our infrastructure is destroyed.

Anything after mid August will enhance pandemonium since children will be in school.......

And to add to my earlier rant about no security...schools are also unprotected. Children are not NEAR as important as LAWYERS!!

There are many islamics working at my airlines...they have internet access [we can access news, etc but nothing obscene of course..and even send email..] BUT why do I see them...and only them... pecking away at their cell phones sending text messages and email from them instead??? Could it be because our emails are monitored????

Mine sent a detailed letter home. Procedures for lockdown and where the kids would be if they needed to be sent to an evacuation site.

I am quite confident with both my sons teacher and my son in an emergency. Both are well prepared and level headed in an emergency.

We had a fire in the house a few years ago and even though I am a fireman's daughter and well taught, my 7 yr old son was still far better prepared and kept is cool better than mom did.

He grabbed the puppy and his shoes and yelled he was going to the safe spot as he ran out the door. I, on the otherhand, stumbled through the fire extinguisher while my mother stuttered on the phone to the 911 operator next door.

That poor puppy was only in our house for 2 weeks (we had just gotten her) and in that time, she broke her leg and had a fire. She was probably thinking "Send me back to the pet store! This family is nuts!".

Universities are back in session starting mid-late August as well. I have often thought they would be good targets since 9/11. No security, lots of young people, and liberal ideals that harbor terrorist ideology (Muslim Student Associations). I was living in a 8 story building last year where cars/trucks often pulled up and sat at the base for hours unchecked. The thought of a truck bomb crossed my mind more than once (especially since 10 ME students [all fluent in Arabic] lived down the hall).

I have no idea as to how well it would work.

Carrier pigeons, aka homing pigeons, wouldn't work too well. They have to be imprinted on what is "home". Thus they could be used to communicate back to base, but not to field agents who have to move fairly frequenty. Range can be hundreds of miles. And of course you have to transport the physcial birds from their home to the field. Still the method was used as late as WW-I by militaries, and WW-II by "embedded" reporters to file their stories when they couldn't use military radio or wire facilities.
