The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Police Secure Businesses on Terror Alert
NEW YORK - Police searched trucks, blocked streets and posted machine-gun toting officers outside financial landmarks Monday, a day after the government's chilling warning that terrorists might target the buildings with bombs.

I just don't see OBL ending it all. Unless:
1. He is terminally ill.
2. He is already dead and his cohorts are making up this elaborate scheme of him being here and dying. Then they have a devbasting attack say he martyred himself here.
3. They pull off a devasting attack and he fakes his own death.
3. He is here and martyrs himself here. That scenario I believe would also require a devasting attack. He is not going to die here if he can only take out a few hundred. I believe he would only die here if he can take out thousands or our President.

I agree wholeheartedly. Yes it does sound silly, and yes it may be the very last thing that anyone would suspect. It also may be highly effective for them.

My family visited the Fort underneath the Golden Gate Bridge on Saturday. My husband witnessed a large group, approx. 30, Muslim men in the parking lot when he went to retrieve the car. He said they were milling around our vehicle, and they were looking "furtively" around. He saw no cameras, but he said they were sure behaving suspiciously.

What is Ready.gov all about?

Terrorists are working to obtain biological, chemical, nuclear and radiological weapons, and the threat of an attack is very real. Here at the Department of Homeland Security, throughout the federal government, and at organizations across America we are working hard to strengthen our Nation's security. Whenever possible, we want to stop terrorist attacks before they happen. All Americans should begin a process of learning about potential threats so we are better prepared to react during an attack. While there is no way to predict what will happen, or what your personal circumstances will be, there are simple things you can do now to prepare yourself and your loved ones.

Some of the things you can do to prepare for the unexpected, such as assembling a supply kit and developing a family communications plan, are the same for both a natural or man-made emergency. However, as you will see throughout the pages of Ready.gov, there are important differences among potential terrorist threats that will impact the decisions you make and the actions you take. With a little planning and common sense, you can be better prepared for the unexpected.

I think we should take pics of all of them, and send them to the FBI

Much more devastating than 9/11.

From what I've read about the FBI receiving reports like this, they aren't very interested.

Thanks for the eyewitness report. Sounds like NYC is a hot spot of terrorists. Please be safe up there.

Chilling. That sounds like the multiple strikes at once scenario that you guys have talked about for so long. And I logged on during lunch for this.

Mysterious mist leaves West Deer in a fragrant haze

By Jonathan Szish
TRIBUNE-REVIEW NEWS SERVICE
Friday, July 30, 2004

Portions of West Deer were in a sweet-smelling haze Thursday, and no one's sure what it was.
Residents initially were told to stay inside when the mysterious wisps appeared. Several residents of Shoaf and Beechnut streets reported irritated eyes, but no one was hospitalized, police said.

The Allegheny County Health Department and the state Department of Environmental Protection were called, but authorities could not determine the source. Police, firefighters and Hazmat crews also responded.

"It was like a haze in the air, maybe 8 to 10 feet off the ground," said West Deer Police Sgt. Darren Mikus, who responded to calls from the Blanchard and Curtisville sections of the township. "It almost looked like heat (rising)."

The haze was barely visible, he said.

The haze had a sweet, strong odor and lay in 100-foot strips over a 3- to 4-mile-wide area, Mikus said. It lifted after about 30 minutes.

"We were unable to track exactly what it was. There is no danger to any of the residents," DEP spokeswoman Betsy Mallison said about 5 p.m.

Asked if anyone was ever in danger, Mallison said, "since we don't know exactly what it was, we can't tell exactly what impact it would have had on the community."

County Health Department spokesman Guillermo Cole said the agency found no releases of chemicals from plants or of chlorine gas from swimming pools. The department tested for particulates and vapors in the area and found nothing abnormal, he said.

The mystery started about 11:30 a.m., when township police received eight to 10 calls about a "strong odor."

DEP officials think the haze originated in Richland, moved to West Deer and then to Middlesex, Butler County, Mallison said.

She said anyone who smells mysterious outdoor odors should call 911.

Butler County emergency services said a weather inversion might have been responsible.

National Weather Service meteorologist Rich Redmond, who saw the haze from his home in Buffalo, Butler County, said an inversion is a daily occurrence in which the air acts like a ceiling because the temperature gets warmer with altitude instead of getting colder.

"Whatever formed that haze or cloud may have become trapped in that area where it can't rise any further," Redmond said. "There had to be a source of some kind of particle in the air to cause that. What that was, I don't know."

Redmond saw the haze about 10:30 a.m.

"I didn't smell anything. There was nothing burning my eyes," Redmond said. "You could see it. It looked like somebody was burning something. It was just everywhere. The first thing I thought was, 'Well, we're finally getting smoke from the fires in Alaska.' "

Here is a web cam view from the top of
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

Yesterday you could see people moving around, and also see high waves and dark clouds, but at this moment there is nothing to be seen except raindrops.

I contacted the Chronicle reporter two nights ago about this threat, based on the Newsday story....they knew nothing about it, and the "wise elders" in SF just "failed to mention it"

The San Francisco Police Department launched 24-hour patrols Monday around the Bank of America building and other undisclosed locations, according to a law enforcement source who spoke on condition of anonymity.

A Department of Homeland Security official said the Bank of America building and a "handful" of other buildings in New York City had come up in intelligence information through "photos, pictures or other vague references that contain nowhere near the detail of the extensive surveillance activities outlined in the intelligence on the other five buildings.

"Based on this information, there is no credible evidence to indicate that al Qaeda is targeting these facilities," said the official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity.

I would also recommend staying away from Library Tower in LA in early September, as KSM stated that was a target

Desperation? Send in the kiddies.....

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/msid-799405,curpg-1.cms

JAMMU: The Indian Army claims to be confronting a new problem along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir - teenaged militants, some as young as 13 or 14, wielding sophisticated arms.

According to an army spokesman here, Pakistan-based militant outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and even the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen have started pushing in teenagers to the Indian side.

The spokesman said in recent weeks, the army had apprehended nine such children armed with deadly weapons.

One of them was identified as 13-year-old Mohammad Islam of Sihota in Pakistan, the spokesman said. The teenager described to the army how he had been motivated for jehad and made to pick up guns.

Islam said that no member of his group was made aware of the hazards that they would have to face while crossing the LoC. Nor were they told of the electrified fencing along the LoC.

"There was no mention of that. We were simply pushed to this side and asked to fight against the Indian Army," Islam is reported to have said.

The army spokesman said the militant outfits' move to send "child warriors" was an act of desperation, with the top leadership of many groups having been wiped out.

Soldiers on the LoC now have to tread cautiously. On spotting young boys, they have to try to hold their fire. The soldiers' first attempt is to capture the children alive so they can be reformed.

Kashmir has been the scene of a bloody insurgency since 1989 that has claimed over 40,000 lives.
