The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

NEW YORK - Police searched trucks, blocked streets and posted machine-gun toting officers outside financial landmarks Monday, a day after the government's chilling warning that terrorists might target the buildings with bombs.

Remember the fired for eating pork employer risingstar's website. The first thing I thought when I saw the web page's graphic was that's what I'd picture EMP's looking like spreading out over a city.

From an article:

The three-year-old storefront mosque serves several hundred members, many who come for daily prayers. Members on Thursday morning found federal agents blocking access and later found several interior doors smashed open.

"I have all the keys," said trustee Rashid Abdulhaqq Hamzah. "If they had asked, I would have opened up all the doors."

I didn't hear any time frame for that address book. More will probably come out in due time. Maybe I missed it though

Okay, let me see what we have here:

I am assuming that these photos, as Dio suggests, are from about 1700 EDT in Albany, NY. Fairly warm for August, so why the baggy clothing?

I took the liberty of having The Missus assume the pose of the "woman" in the shot. The grip on the purse with the right hand is perfectly natural stance, consistent with a woman carrying her handbag.

The shape of the left side, however, is indicative of something being carried under the arm, or slung over shoulder - a backpack, or similar item.

Also, the left arm is positioned to look as if "she" is holding the arm of the man in the white coat, as if he's escorting "her".

The shape of the head scarf, and the rest of the outfit, is not laying properly for normal fabric; there is SOMETHING being carried underneath.

Surface-to-air (SAM) systems, even Man-portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS), are bulky things; the SA-18 comes to mind; it's enormous when it's deployed for use. The bulges, the person's stature, all lead me to conclude it's NOT a fully-deployed MANPAD. It COULD, however, be the components of a full system - the guidance package, possibly.

It could also be a broken-down rifle, or similar weapon; the stock assembly and breech, perhaps. The shoulder straps would still be attached in that case, making for an easier carry.

A third scenario, would be a large backpack arrangement, which could carry a number of small items easily concealed. THIS IS THE MOST LIKELY, IMA...

What we are most likely seeing, is a delivery; we can speculate as to what (ordnance, weapon parts, etc.), with varying success. But there have been disjointed but numerous reports of using women as couriers - they can pass thru checkpoints easier than men, and with Sharia law, they are not to be noticed.

Yet another tactic from an adaptive foe.

Yes, I'd like Keyes to win. I wanted him to be President, after all.

Me too! He was the only candidate at the debates who had a grip on the Constitutional requirements of the job!

The recently-posted sketch of an airplane flying into some kind of structure, and the target(s) being called "two bows" is something we could spend a bit more time brainstorming on.

Could you please tell me where the airplane sketch & the phrase "two bows" come from? I must have missed it.

am I mistaken or are the people in the mosque pics blacks rather than arabs? If so, we are in more trouble than I thought. Are they recruiting black Muslims as terrorists?

I am jumping with you only a little slower, my family and
I are totally toasted red and every muscle in my body hurts. We spent a day at the Arch, a day a six flags, a
day at the zoo, a day at the museum and the St. Louis
Cardinals game, then a day climbing and sliding and
swimming at the Johnson Shut Ins and today canooing.

If the weather in Albany today was anything similar to what's in the forecast for the next few days, the daytime temps are 70 or so. Seems a bit warm for those heavy jackets...
