DULUTH, Minn. - Rep. Tom Rukavina, DFL-Virginia, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.
Rukavina, 54, was arrested on Highway 169 in Mountain Iron at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday after deputies saw him driving erratically, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
He was cited for fourth-degree DUI after being given field sobriety tests. He took a blood-alcohol test at the county jail and registered 0.15.

Now. Is it fair to force a suspect to provide evidence against themself?Life is not fair, particularly to drunk drivers and their victems.

But not if you kill someone because you forgot to take your meds, or because you were sleepy, or because you are just too dang stoopid to drive a car. The way state laws target the drunk driver, but turn a blind eye to other forms of incapacitation is WRONG, no matter how many little stats you can quote. Not that the law turns a blind ey to those 'others' but if you feel that they are so dangerous, work to correct that problem and keep those people off the road.

If you're ready to wave good bye to your rights. So be it. When they come for your guns, (which I doubt you have), wave good bye to your family as they haul them off in the boxcars.
You'll never get it, till the end.
I know the people I pinged are not on the thread. But neither were you. Bye Smoke Alcohol Gnatzy. Sleep tight.

If you're ready to wave good bye to your rights. So be it. No one has a right to drive under the influence. You are right. It is the Libertarian way to sue AFTER the drunk kills you

Interesting that you would say that since your 'ping' was a response to my post.

It is not worth getting into.
True drunk drivers should be removed from the road because they are a danger to society - the average joe who wants to have a beer after work is not the problem, but that is who they target.
And with that said, I think I will walk the 10 feet to my refrigerator and get a beer, and when I finish it, I will walk the 30 feet to my bedroom to go to sleep.

I think her point is...
If a 90 y.o. was stopped and could not perform the "tests" better than a 40 y.o. with a BAC of 0.10, why is the 40 y.o. thrown in jail, and the 90 y.o. allowed to drive home?
Is the point arresting "drunk" drivers or anyone that is impaired for whatever reason, since they are similiar risks on the road?

Is the point arresting "drunk" drivers or anyone that is impaired for whatever reason, since they are similiar risks on the road? BINGO!!!!!
I'm a perfect example - I need to wear corrective lenses when driving, particularly at night. There is either something wrong with the current prescription I have or my eyesight has changed, but I need to see the eye doctor before I will even consider driving at night again because I know that I could be a menace on the road.
I have an appointment 2 weeks from today and I can guarantee that I will not be doing any driving at night between now and then.
