Her silence is not an endorsement of Ronron's spew. I have not yet heard her dissatisfaction voiced.

Not enough! Since her eldest son went PUBLIC with an Democratic endorsement, she needs to get ON THE STAGE at the Republican Convention and ENDORSE President Bush.

PERIOD!

We were there for her. Now she needs to be there for us.

We loved President Reagan. We have also supported (financially) the Reagan Library. To be honest, we have with-held money of late to see where Nancy "really" is right now.

She needs to step forward during this election. Both of us are confused as to where she stands since her SON did what he did.

A "statement" isn't good enough. She is quite capable of being on the USS Ronald Reagan when it came to Port, she should be just fine and able bodied to come to the convention.

By endorsing President Bush's re-election, Mrs. Reagan joins President Reagan' elder son, Michael, who has already announced his strong support for the president's re-election. Michael will be speaking at the GOP convention in New York.

Excellent news. Thanks for the ping.

she owes

How does she owe anybody, anything? OWE????

It is silly thinking to assume she is responsible for her child's behavior... especially being he is a grown man. I imagine she is disappointed in her children's behavior. However, they are her children. And I have no doubts she loves them unconditionally. Their opinions and beliefs are theirs. It must be difficult to have raised two children so diabolically opposed to the beliefs her husband so magnificently held, expressed, and lived. As for her beliefs, she showed me her character in caring for President Reagan.. expecting nothing... out of the eyes of the world. It is none of our business what she chooses to do.

I am convinced of Nancy Reagan's support for President Bush. The reason, a HUGE billboard in 2000, placed near the capital in Austin. It extended congratulations, from The Reagan's.

I never thought Nancy wouldn't endorse President Bush. This is some leftist propaganda I am sure.

I come from a society that when someone fairly well known and respected by you passes away condolences are in order. That might be visitation at the wake or showing, preparing food for the deceased family and visitors, flowers, observing the state funeral if the deceased is a beloved former president.

The family of the deceased, after a period of solitude, then expresses it gratitude by acknowlegement of you paying your respects.

If it were left up to the democrats, there would have been no state funeral.

I saw Mrs. Reagan the day her husband, President Reagan, was laid to rest. I saw her eyes, and her sad smile, and her gentle wave. To doubt her gratitude as she looked out from the family limousine at the the silent, saluting, hand-waving, flag-waving crowds that lined the streets along the motorcade is simply crass. The motorcade was late to the Library because Mrs. Reagan requested that it travel more slowly than the standard 20 mph, because she took such comfort in the outpouring for her and her late husband.

What more evidence of gratitude is necessary?

Did Capitol Hill Blue Post An Article With Fabrications?

Posted on 07/08/2003 1:32:03 PM PDT by William McKinley

In this article on Capitol Hill Blue, there are the following lines:

"The report had already been discredited," said Terrance J. Wilkinson, a CIA advisor present at two White House briefings. "This point was clearly made when the President was in the room during at least two of the briefings."

Bush's response was anger, Wilkinson said.

"He said that if the current operatives working for the CIA couldn't prove the story was true, then the agency had better find some who could," Wilkinson said. "He said he knew the story was true and so would the world after American troops secured the country."

Serious allegations. But I notice it is a single source. Being a conservative, I value the lessons of experience, and experience has told me that single sources are to be treated with skeptism. When I see one, I want to know more about the source quoted so as to establish if I should treat that source as credible.
So what about "Terrance J. Wilkinson"?

A Google search for "Terrance J. Wilkinson" found no results (which will change when Google picks up the Capitol Hill Blue article).

Google suggested that the name might be Terrence. But a Google search on "Terrence J. Wilkinson" also produced no hits.

Perhaps the middle initial is the problem. Alas, a Google search on "Terrence Wilkinson" CIA gave no hits, and a Google search on "Terrance Wilkinson" CIA also yielded no hits.

A Google news search on Terrence Wilkinson comes up with nothing relevant. So does a Google news search of Terrance Wilkinson.

A Google search on one of the phrases from one of the quotations comes up empty.

I would anticipate a 'CIA advisor' who attends the same briefings as the President to live somewhere near D.C. But there are no listings according to Anywho for a Terrance or Terrence Wilkinson in D.C., Maryland, or Virginia.

A Google search on "CIA Advisor" Wilkinson also comes up empty.

Perhaps Capitol Hill Blue would be better served by providing some more information about the person quoted so that others can judge his credibility. That is, if he exists.

"The motorcade was late to the Library because Mrs. Reagan requested that it travel more slowly than the standard 20 mph, because she took such comfort in the outpouring for her and her late husband."

Thank you, Tooth, for your description of the motorcade and Nancy. I have never doubted that Nancy is a conservative. When they were in the White House, liberal reporters used to make snide comments blaming her for Ronnie's conservatism, as if he would've been a knee-jerk liberal (like the reporters) if he hadn't married her.

It's perfectly understandable that she seldom expressed her views on the issues. She was married to the Great Communicator, the man who created the Reagan Revolution. Could she improve on anything he said?

I saw her at a Republican convention in 1976, and her gaze never wandered during his speech. She looked at him the whole time like she had never heard that speech before and was totally transported. (Most candidates' wives get bored after a while and start picking lint off their skirts.) I am not kidding, she had such obvious love and adoration in her demeanor towards him I felt embarassed to watch, like we were intruding on something private. They were soulmates.
