Cheney: Bush Removing Terrorist Threats

The Associated Press

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. Aug. 2, 2004 — Vice President Dick Cheney told nearly 1,000 military personnel on Monday the Bush administration is "doing everything" it can to protect the nation against terrorists and other threats.

"I am grateful to stand before so many who defend our homeland so well," Cheney told the camouflage-clad airmen and a handful of civilians gathered in a hangar. "Your mission here is nothing less than the defense of America's land, sea and air space."

Cheney, who has been campaigning throughout the West, was addressing members of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the U.S. Northern Command, which was set up here to coordinate the military response to threats to North America following the Sept. 11 attacks.

"It's been almost three years since the terrorists brought war to our homeland," Cheney said. "We saw a foe whose hate for us is limitless. This is, to put it simply, an enemy we must vanquish. And we will vanquish this enemy."

He added: "President Bush is determined to remove threats before they arrive ... all Americans can be certain we are doing everything we can to protect this nation."

It was Cheney's sixth visit since last fall to a state that has two congressional seats being left open by the retirement of Republicans. Both President Bush and Kerry have been running ads in Colorado in an effort to capture its nine electoral votes in November's election.

In June, Cheney spoke to 300 workers and their families at Adam Aircraft in Englewood, Colo., about the economy, saying voters should reject any suggestion to roll back tax cuts.

Thank the Lord, we have a real President. What a disaster if Kerry is elected. He is the product of ignorance.

GW has a known track record with terrorists since 911.

No successful attacks have been carried our that I am aware of.

John Kerry is an absolute unknown in this regard.

Why swap a known for an unknown??

GWB considers the terrorist an enemy to be destroyed;
JFondaKerry considers the terrorist a criminal to be captured and prosecuted.

GWB's strategy is for our military forces to fight the terrorists and destroy them in the hellholes where they live and plot;
JFondaKerry's strategy is to make sure our police and fire fighters are better prepared for the rescue and cleanup after the next attack on our citizens on American soil.

What grinds me also is the blatant lies Hanoi John stacks up each day. One after another and the gullible fools that parrot them, without question. This election must be setting some type of records for Democrook lying.

I listen to talk shows each day and can hardly believe my ears to the effect that so many call in without a iota of sense as to the facts surrounding the subject. They just repeat and repeat the Party Line, like they knew what they were talking about.

I'm so fed up with the charge of Bush's hiding the facts on WMD topic, I turn em off.
