Killing the questioner By Colin McNickle TRIBUNE-REVIEW Sunday, August 1, 2004

A week ago tonight, I asked Teresa Heinz Kerry a simple question here: "What did you mean?" And a wicked firestorm was sparked. Incredibly, most of it was directed against me.

Moments earlier, Mrs. Heinz Kerry had talked of "un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits" that supposedly have crept into our political discourse. Her talk before the Pennsylvania delegation was, in part, a plea for a return to civility.

She was not specific. As any journalist would, or should, I sought an example. Instead, I got a finger in the face and was told to "shove it." I have been told worse things by more important people.

The best part:
Bombastic, fact-challenged liberal filmmaker Michael Moore supposedly called me "rude."

The word 'chutzpah' comes to mind.

And yet the Reverend Al appearing at the DNC convention is given a pass by MSM.

"It seems a member of the Heinz Kerry Civility Enforcement Patrol posted our home address and telephone number on the response part of my convention blog."

OMG. IS there a Democrat left who's capable of NOT going to dangerous extremes??

What happened to this reporter is what happens whenever a dem does something unacceptable.

The subject becomes the messenger, the day of the story, or a dozen other irrelevant topics that obfuscate the real issue.

For example when it was revealed that Sandy Berger had illegally removed documents from the archives.....suddenly it's the time, who leaked, it's only copies, etc etc etc. Not a word about what Mr. Berger did!

I watched a re-play of reporter Colin McNickle, and the exchange between him and the old rich gas bag, Heinz.

It reminded me of that Clinton dame, Hillary.

Should the rug be pulled back, and all the illegal garbage that has been swept under it be exposed, the stench will permeate every part of these United States.

These people will do anything shy of using a gun, knife, or bat on anyone who disagrees with them, and I'm not sure they won't resort to that.

I am glad I'm not shy. ;)

LOL THAT turned out to be a mistake. "40 acres, a mule and the 'masturbation proclamation' "??

On the other hand, he was easily the most exciting speaker there.

The 'return to civility' involves bringing a reporters children to tears with crank calls?

Dispicable.

"This should help us in PA - no?"

I hope so. I had already given Pittsburgh up as lost to Kerry. Now, I'm not so sure.

Teresa was just engaging in an unintentional self-parody. Obviously she is a total hypocrite, and doesn't even realize it. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I haven't been home to Pittsburgh in a while but- since when did the Trib becomes a "right wing conservative" rag?

(The rag part, I agree with)

If you want to see un-American traits, look at the Dems.

Yes folks, this is the "new" progressive party. Nothing like the clowns of the 60's and 70's.

Nice to meet you.

I think Teraza went off on this reporter because she hadn't taken her daily meds that day. Although, she did take her meds the night she spoke at the convention.
