I too vividly remember Limbaugh sending his man to serve Kool Aid at the first Dem convention for The Nameless One, and how confident we all were that Bush the elder would (in Hewitt's phrase) beat him like a bongo drum.
And I remember that confidence turning to mounting horror. And we all know who ended up beating the bongo drum.
As long as it's more than a day before the election, and Bush's lead is less than double-digits, I'll stay worried, thank you.

I remember the moment I knew deep down inside that Bush 41 was toast: when he referred to Clinton and Gore as "these two bozos." I didn't want to admit it, even to myself, but I still remember the crushing depression which came over me when I heard him say that.
I smell the same stench coming from the Kerry Kampaign.
Members of the press will, I think, grow weary of Kerry before the election. Weary of covering for him and carrying water for him. When they turn on him, and run the unflattering stories and pics as often as they could, Kerry's numbers will plummet.
I'm beginning to worry not that Bush will lose but that when he wins I will not be gracious about it---the temptation to gloat will be too powerful.
Boy, I remember that year with horror. The Dems won everything in sight and Clinton was elected. I went to the gun shop and bought a .357 magnum for the criminals that I feared Clinton's judges would release into the streets and to beat the prohibitions on buying guns that were sure to come from all these elected Democrats.
Fortunately, and as bad as it was, we all survived. We wiped them out in 1994 and the rest of the decade was a stalemate.
