Kerry's rally was far from just the ticket ("Tick off America" tour)
Times Leader ^ | 8/1/04

Posted on 08/01/2004 3:48:25 AM PDT by Born Conservative

The day sees error upon errors

John Edwards, populist and Democratic vice presidential candidate, warmed up the crowd for his boss Friday. And he explained their vision of "one America" at a Democratic rally in Scranton.

"What we believe is that the family you're born into, and the color of your skin, in our America, will never control your destiny," Edwards said.

That might be true, but the family you're born into and the color of your ticket has a lot to say about where you stand when John Kerry and Edwards come to town.

Edwards' comment drew more than few snickers in the viewing area for garden variety, or "white ticket" Democrats, hundreds of yards from the stage outside the courthouse.

I heard a half dozen people call home to tell their loved ones that the candidates had arrived, but they could not see a thing. I saw dozens more turn around and leave before the rally even started. And I heard more than a few speculate that the candidates lost more votes than they won.

Not a day had passed since Kerry accepted the nomination, and already, a scandal. I'm calling it "Ticketgate."

I made two trips to the Lackawanna County Democratic Party headquarters for an explanation of the ticket caste system, but I had trouble getting a straight answer.

From what I can gather, it worked this way: Under orders from the Kerry campaign, the party's local elite - elected officials and those in the loop - got red, blue and yellow tickets.

They're the people you saw on television waving signs and jumping up and down like cheerleaders. They were close enough to bask in the glow of John Edwards. Close enough to get the complimentary cups of water they passed out when people started passing out from the heat because the candidates were two hours late.

The rest of us got white tickets, and we stood on our tiptoes behind steel barricades, so far away from the stage that we weren't even searched by the Secret Service.

It's billed as the "Believe in America" tour. But unless the candidates change their ways, it could turn out to be the "Tick off America" tour.

They can start with the tickets. A bunch of us with white tickets are of the opinion that passes to a Democratic Party campaign rally should be distributed through some sort of democratic process.

And they shouldn't play courthouses with an act that can fill stadiums. Lackawanna County Stadium would have held the crowd, with seating, parking, concessions stands and restrooms for all. Plus, the candidates would have looked bigger than the Beatles on the evening news.

They also need to teach the Secret Service to use some common sense when securing the grounds. I watched the men in black chase at least a dozen senior citizens off park benches an entire block away from the stage.

At the very least, have the decency to show up on time. While the candidates were staging a photo-op at a fast food restaurant, heat-stricken Democrats in Scranton were dropping faster than trees in our national forests.

And quit wasting space with a mess tent for the press. If the reporters don't like it, Teresa can tell them to shove it.

While campaigning Kerry had a rally in my hometown.

The live reporter on the news made it clear that they were "positioning" people they wanted on camera and had the "appropriate" signs to be up front, so they'd be on camera.

I took it to mean they were escorting protestors to the back, but maybe not, after reading this article, perhaps there is a "caste" system among the Dems.

They also positioned states at the convention according to how important those states were.

Wow! Great stuff: The "Tick Off America" tour! Gotta love it.

But, but, didn't the crowd realize who John Fn Kerry WAS? I'm sure his failed photo-op at the Wendy's was MUCH more important than a few sweltering Pennsylvanians. LOL!

LOL! The "elites" get the "good" tickets, while the "great, unwashed masses", get what's left.

WATCH WHAT THEY DO, NOT WHAT THEY SAY.

Smart Robot

A popular bar had a new robotic bartender installed. It could not only dispense drinks flawlessly, but also -- like any good bartender -- engage in appropriate conversation.

A man enters the bar, orders a drink. The robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, then asks him, "What's your IQ?" The man replies, "150." And the robot proceeds to make conversation about Quantum physics, string theory, atomic chemistry, etc. The customer is very impressed and thinks, "This is really cool."

He decides to test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, and comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him the drink and asks him, "What's your IQ?" The man responds, "100." And immediately the robot starts talking, but this time, about football, baseball, cheerleaders, etc.

Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one more test. He goes back in, the robot serves him and asks, "What's your IQ?" The man replies, "50." And the robot says, "So, you gonna vote for Kerry? "

The local Scranton TV station reported the day before the rally that no homemade signs would be allowed, but that signs provided at the rally would be allowed.

Kerry/Edwards were in Wheeling, WV yesterday. While protesting their visit, my husband and I were approached by a liberal friend and coworker of his. She and her husband were headed to the rally. When we told her the line of people waiting to go through security extended well up the street, she said that they wouldn't have to wait. We looked puzzled, and she explained that when she went to Dem HQ to pick up her free tickets, she was asked if she was a union member. She said she wasn't, but then they asked if she was a state employee. Because she works at a state college, she said yes - and was given special tickets to stand in front of the stage. So union members and state employees got the royal treatment, and the rest of the sheeple were relegated to the back of the bus, so to speak!

Full report here.

Is it "The Democratic Party" or "The Democrat Party"?
It seems as tho "The Democrats" are not "Democratic" after all.

Democrats are all about special favors and preferences. Let us hope that Kerry's campaign continues to tick off potential voters. He cannot organize Anything - he even lived in a friend's home when he was between wives.

I wonder who he will blame for yesterday's snafus? It couldn't be his fault, because nothing ever is his fault (or his credit, to tell the truth.)

Amen.... apparently, to get up front with the Two Johns, it helps to have a sizable bank portfolio, a mansion, a limo, a rich wife, a maid, a butler and of course a Gulfstream IV private jet. And who could forget a Serotta bike. Priceless!

Well, I sincerely hope that they keep this up. Then maybe the sheeple will wake up and be aware of what disdain the elite dem candidates really have for them.
I've been praying for them to make campaign mistakes - lets hope they don't learn from their mistakes.
And how clintonesque to be so ridiculously late for their own rally.

Yeah... they'll keep every one waiting on their dime. After all you see, Jean Francois Cheri was BORN to be President. Lesser mortals must bow to him and if he says they drop in the heat, they drop in the heat. He won't ask for votes like President Bush is doing. Its beneath his dignity.

Late? The American people work for HIM, not the other way around. In John F*ckin's rarerified world, if he sees you, its a personal favor. Don't push him, buster.

Kerry & Edwards 2 Americas:

One America for the "elites" and "beautiful people," They get the Red, Blue, and Yellow tickets in life and in Kerry’s America. They get ALL the perks, ALL the benefits and get to ride at the front of the preverbal bus.

The second America represents the rest of us who are not filthy rich, who are not the Hollywood people and moguls of this world, those who can not provide them with some sort of an "advantage. We, the "little people," get to ride at the back of the bus (or not get to ride at all), we all get to stand outside the fence and watch from a distance as THEY roll along on their 9 thousand dollar bikes, They cruse in their 41 foot speed boats, THEY fly in their 36 million dollar jets, THEY live in their five plus mansions, THEY ride in their Rolls Royce’s, THEY wine and dine in the finest restraints while we plead on the sidelines hopping for (but never receiving because “it just isn’t done”) the "scraps" that fall from their table while Kerry, Edwards et. al. declare; and the lackey main-stream media report: "look how the masses love us and them!"

Why is anyone surprised? John Kerry DOES NEVER SERVES, HE IS SERVED BY OTHERS! This is coming from John F'n Kerry, a man who lives to be (and MUST be) FIRST in line and who's favorite saying is:

Do you know who 'I' am?"

This, and ONLY this, is what awaits America if John Kerry is elected. He and his administration (like the Clintons before them) will “milk the system” for all it is worth, for themselves, their family and friends, gorging on the backs of the second America. The rest of us are going to hurt big time, America will grow morally, spiritually, militarily and politically weaker. The terrorists will hit us big time and all the while Kerry, France and Germany will declare how good he is and how “strong” we are.
