Maybe. I'm a political scientist, and I've seen lots of these things like this come and go. There might not even be a real trend under this data. I think Kerry is a strongish candidate, and this will be tight. But I'm predicting a Bush win. It'll be much easier if the Nader Left has another tandrum this time.

Repeat after me (near some democrats): "There is no difference between the parties. Spoil your vote. Vote Naderrrrrrr."
:)

Is that photo with Kerry Edwards sign crossed out during when the Kerry bus was passing by?

A strongish candidate with a strongish motto that keeps changing:

So what is it? A stronger America? Believe in America? Or America can do Better? These guys don't look strong to me.

With all of your expertise, can you say why most polls show Nader hurting President Bush? And why would you be cheering for that?

The poll Drudge linked to was conducted over a multiday period, much of it was before the Candle's speech. Any "bounce" analysis before Monday is premature.

My wife's a political scientist. She predicts a substantial Bush victory.

She sees the election as a matter of each man's clarity. President Bush is clear and steadfast, as opposed to Senator Kerry who is confusing and unsure.

My wife is a registered Democrat and she'll tell anybody that she's voting for President Bush. FRegards...

"I think Kerry is a strongish candidate"

He certainly is, as Dave Barry puts it, he wants to Keep America Strong through the Strength of Strongness.

I've never understood this "It's gonna be a tight race" mantra.

John Kerry is gonna get absolutely crushed.
We've got the New York City convention coming and something nobody has really mentioned...the actual debates.

GW is gonna be his normal self and John Kerry is gonna be Al Bore II. Condescending/trying to hard to pretend like he's not elitest/faking normalcy/imagining he's making the slightest bit of sense.

The only way this thing'd be close is if it were September 10th, Teresa got hit by a Japanese bullet train, John Kerry actually got saved and GW just absolutely collapsed. None of that is gonna happen.

I'm gonna enjoy the ride. Not that there isnt allot of hard work left but...it's already over.

How long will Kerry get away with concealing his massive tax hike scheme with the airy nonsense of 'I'm not revealing my economic plans until I'm elected.' He's smart enough to know he's doomed if he tells the truth. Will the American electorate buy a pig in a poke? I don't think so. The longer he goes with this I don't have to reveal my economic plans baloney, the worse it will be. It's not like refusing to reveal Lovie's (TerAYsa or Mama T's) tax records or his medical records. He can call that personal information. What he intends to do with your wallet and mine is entirely different.

Frankly, a Presidential candidate who continuously lives in the 70's, and refuses to talk about his own 20 year Senate record, has alot to be worried about. This excerpt from Kerry's acceptance speech tells it all:

"Let there be no mistake:  I will never hesitate to use force when it is required.  Any attack will be met with a swift and certain response."

So Kerry will use force, only after we are attacked? Those are his own words. But who wants a President who will wait until we are attacked before he takes action? That's why President Bush's use of pre-iminent strikes is important to push in this campaign. Americans don't want to be attacked, and anything that can be done to prevent this from happening will meet with resounding support of the majority of people in this country.
