I think you will see the Dems get farther and farther away from the abortion issue and the gay issue. They're losing people with higher morals. My latest line to a pro-abortionist aka pro-choicer was: "It may cost you a grandchildren someday". It stunned her so that I thought she'd fall on her face as she has two lovely young children.

If Obama gets elected tot eh Senate (and it's a good bet), there will be tremendous pressure in 2008 for Democrats to place him as VP on their ticket. Democrats can't very well say that he's not experienced enough, because they have Edwards, with less than one Senatorial term's experience on the ticket now.

".......Again, the hapless, inept, inactive, irrelevant IL GOP is impacting the nation......."

Either way, an entrenched Senator or a Vice-Presidential Candidate, a tip of the hat to those geniuses at the RNC.

You guys screws the pooch on this one, didn't ya.

Two factors: (1) inept GOP, and (2) liberal media. MSNBC was awful during the convention, but I watched a little of it. Chris Matthews said he had been "disappointed" in Colin Powell and expected Obama to be our first black President. (I guess he forgot Bubba.)

During the democratic primaries Obama faced a freespending milionaire. This opponent while doling out $28 millions got untracked by the media's revelations about his divorce.
Obama succeeded as the shining light on the horizon.
Again, while facing an opponent named Ryan for the US senate, the CHICAGO TIBUNE went out to file a suit in court to have Ryan's divorce records opened.
A California Judge, a Berkeley graduate, granted the Tribune's request.
Obama's opponent, Ryan found himself in a wild media turbulence and became dead meat.
So much for the people electing a candidate in Chicago/ Illinois.

Osama bin Bama will apparently join that roster of other great DemocRAT senators from Illinois:

Durbin, Mosely-Braun, etc. etc.

"the hapless Illinois GOP to find a credible opponent"

Oh yeah. Well the party might be hapless, but apparently you don't know about Sparky do you? 'We' found our candidate, and it's Sparky!

Inside joke on the 'Illinois' page.
