FEC Approves $74.7M in Funding for Kerry

WASHINGTON - The Federal Election Commission approved on Friday the release of $74.7 million in federal money that Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry and running mate John Edwards will use until Election Day.

The FEC has notified the Treasury Department, which will wire the cash to the campaign, the commission said.

Because Kerry accepted public funding for the general election, he is prohibited from spending any other cash since he accepted his party's nomination at its Boston convention Thursday night.

That puts Kerry at a monetary disadvantage to President Bush who also accepted public financing but has another month to spend freely from private donations. That will end when Bush formally accepts the presidential nomination at the Republican convention, which convenes at the end of August.

To conserve cash, Kerry is suspending advertising over the next few weeks. The Democratic National Committee which has at least $60 million in the bank and is working to raise $100 million more, will fill the airwaves instead.

Starting with the first publicly funded presidential election in 1976, Democratic and Republican presidential nominees have been allowed $20 million each in taxpayer money, plus cost-of-living adjustments. That figure reached $67.56 million by 2000 and this year rose to $74.69 million.

LOL! I wonder how much the rats lose out 60, 70 million?

McAuliffe your stupid.

While Bush gets to spend his kitty, a cool 65 to 80 million for the next month.

Your dumb McAuliffe. LOL!

IF YOU ARE GOING TO CONTRIBUTE TO BUSH/CHENEY 04, DO IT NOW!

Once Bush accepts the GOP nomination, he has to rely on FEC funding between then and the general election.

He will be prohibited from spending any other cash.

Actually those 527 groups are having to file CFR which I found last night and they do not have the millions and millions the media is claiming they have.

DNC is way behind RNC in donations.

Will keep checking but looks like we are being scammed by the RATs and the media as to how much money they have to spend to defeat Bush. Some groups are already in the hole and have no money left.
