George W. Bush ^ | July 30, 2004

ARLINGTON, VA - Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Changing World."  The new ad highlights President George W. Bush's vision to keep America moving forward and his conviction to make tough decisions in today's changing world.  The ad also points to the values that make our country strong. The ad will run on national cable and select local markets.

Script for "Changing World"

Voice Over:
The world is changing.
Sometimes in ways that astound.
And others that terrify.
We depend more than ever on our values - family, faith, the freedom we celebrate.
In today's changing world the answers aren't easy.
We need a sense of purpose, a vision for the future, the conviction to do what's right.

President Bush:
I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message.  Together, we're moving America forward.

Works in the way Bush wants it to. I think he can be cagey and slick without looking like he is. I wish I could give some hard evidence but its a general feeling I have about the way Bush campaigns. Flame away if you like because I have no hard facts to state right here right now.

I agree with you that its a bad ad. All I can think of is Bush's people have some kind of plan that we aren't privy to. I'm trying to optimistic.

btw, you should talk to your wife more :) Why didn't you tell her about Kerry's Vietnam record?

Here are his negative ads.

You need to throw some positive and optimistic ads in the mix every once in a while.

Where is the one hitting Kerry on voting against parental notification? I saw a clip of that on CNN today. THAT'S more like it (but I can't find it!)

Bush should ignore Kerry and run on his leadership.

Kerry offers no alternative.

Ignore Kerry and run on the record. Bush has been bold. IGNORE KERRY.

She hates politics. Says it makes her feel helpless. Some days, when I see how the mainstrean media distorts the news, I tend to agree.

Problem is...
The way you demonstrate values is not by some fuzzy, abstract words that could be snatched directly from the dialog of some 1930s film.

You don't emphasize freedom by saying the word - you emphasize it by describing (and showing photos that represent) things he's done to enhance freedom - tax cuts, Afghans, Iraqis, etc. You enphasize conviction by talking about when Bush stood his ground - after 9/11, and yes even with Iraq.

If this is the best they can come up with, I am not optimistic about November.

I was gonna' say the same thing even before I saw your post.

Another pathetic... meaningless Karl Rove Ad. They should just film 30 seconds of Zell Miller listing reasons why Kerry is a far-left UN-Whore who cant be trusted. Then just play that in all the battle ground states.

Ditto. This commercial is vague and has no substance behind it what so ever.

Kerry's got a commercial coming out touting his strength on defense, Unfortunately I doubt the Republicans will challenge him on it.

This is becoming the race between the worst candidate vs the worst campaigner.

This ad is terrible and smacks of the mediocrity of his father's 1992 campaign. "Moving America Forward" conjures up the image of being stuck in a vat of molasses.

"In today's changing world the answers aren't easy. We need a sense of purpose, a vision for the future, the conviction to do what's right."

This ad is not worthy of George W. Bush.
