I thought that the Edwards' celebrated at the Burger King.
Why?
Because that would be the only way the Mrs. could get a whopper in her.

Oh, lord, somebody should take that picture of her or one like it and make her a Macy's Day parade blimp.

While I enjoy Wendy's maybe 3 times a month (love the square hamburgers for some reason), I would not eat on such an occassion.

She said the Edwards never spent any time with their children. She said they took advantage of her working hours. Suppposedly the kids are being used as props to make the Edwards look like actual caring parents.Don't you believe the part about Mrs. Edwards sewing by hand by herself the children's Halloween costumes every year? What are you, some kind of cynic?

"She's so normal,''
Mrs. Riggio said of Mrs. Edwards. She said that during dinner, over plates heaped with fried chicken, pork ribs, beef ribs, macaroni salad, green beans and peach cobbler, Mrs. Edwards told her how hard it was to watch her weight during the campaign.
"She said she put away all her size 10's because she can't get into them and won't be able to until after the campaign,'' Mrs. Riggio said. "It was great to admit something like that. Very human.''

It may be their "little thing" to remember some past quaint event or the days when they didn't have all that dough. But I'd wager that they also have a $300 dinner at some ritzy place, as well, at some other time.

Mrs. Edwards and Linda Rondstadt have lots in common.
In weight.

Up until a few days ago, I thought the Edwardses looked like a "nice" family.
THEN I heard about their staging a visit to a cemetery to visit their dead teenaged son's grave.
They were very purposely late to an pre-convention event because of this "unscheduled" visit. And they made darned sure everybody found out where they'd been.
John Edwards has frequently made a mawkish point of his son's death as the turning point in his decision to leave his lucrative practice and go into politics -- supposedly the son had wanted him to do that.
So, presumably the couple were making a show of visiting his grave to, as it were, get the dead boy's blessing before going to the convention.
Any couple who USE their dead child in this way are, IMO, completely despicable.

love the square hamburgers for some reason too much information ;)
What is the purpose of annual date at Wendy's anyway? Did they meet at a Wendy's? Was that their first date or something?

I read in an interview that the Wendy's tradition began when the Edwards moved into their first house on their anniversary. She was too tired to cook, so they went to Wendy's.

The MRS's looks like she celebrates at Wendy's EVERYDAY.
That's the damned truth. I'll bet that deep down inside she's hoping that the Dems lose so that she can promptly go back to sumo wrestling camp.

Its true. They do go to Wendys. My memory is a little fuzzy on the matter but something of historical importance to them happened at Wendy's, possibly their first date.

What is the purpose of annual date at Wendy's anyway?Perhaps the first name of the client for John's first multimillion dollar settlement was Wendy.
