Wow: that gives the seeds of a great counterpoint... I mean GREAT...
Kerry is maintaining he will defend this country in the same way he defended it in Vietnam?... Just wait until the swift boat folks get finished tearing him a new one in the near future, and then people will start to realize that he is actually being honest here.
Kerry WILL defend this country just as he did when he was a young man. He will go in for show, and when there is a bloody nose or a scratched arm, he'll go ask for a medal - several times if necessary - and then declare his honor is satisfied, turn his back and go home to blame everyone else.
This reminds me of the 'Toon "most ethical administration in history" line: Yeah - it sure was - bad ethics - but when he delivered the line, people thought he was talking about good ethics, not bad.
I think the Vietnam vets against Kerry will ripe him apart. If he thinks he can capitalize on his "service," if I were running the Bush campaign, I wouldn't say anything about Kerry's "service," but would let loose veterans of all stripes to go after him. Just about every veteran I've heard loath the guy.
That's a good summation.
