There's not much. Both are radical open-borders, pro-gay, pro-homosexual, anti-family, welfare-plantation rulers.

Pro-gay and pro-homosexual eh? She sure has gotten a bunch of Republican support in a pretty conservative district. Amazing how fooled everyone is (especially with all the adds Vernon has run pointing out how liberal everyone else is

And as for "open borders", so is our current President. That's not "hillaryesque".

Looks like someone has sampled the coolaid.

He ran the same kinds of adds against the other Republicans. I'll say it again, he's run a DIRTY CAMPAIGN. And everyone in the district knows it.

How else does a guy beat back a squad of multi-millionnaires whom the liberal press loves?)

Simple really. Have them split the vote six or seven ways. Probably neither of them (certainly not Foxx) would make a runnoff against just one or two others. Vernon's best shott at the seat was exactly what has happened. Had it been a runoff between him and Broyhill he would have had little chance.

Dirty campaigning, eh? Foxx's ad was entitled "The Big Lie." Looks like it was: National Rifle Association of America Political Victory Fund Institute for Legislative Action 11250 Waples Mill Road Fairfax, Virginia 22030-7400 ______________________________________________________________________________FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: For More Information: August 16 , 2002 (703) 267-3820 Vote for Vernon Robinson ¨C the NRA‑PVF Endorsed Candidate FAIRFAX, VA -- In recent radio spots, mailings and on her website, Virginia Foxx incorrectly states she is the National Rifle Association (NRA) endorsed candidate in North Carolina¡¯s 5th District Congressional race. The truth is the NRA‑ PVF has endorsed Vernon Robinson for the 5th District. Robinson, the son of a Tuskegee Airman and nurse, graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Middle Eastern Affairs and the University of Missouri with an M.B.A. Proudly serving his country as a Missile Combat Crew Commander and Intelligence Officer in the Air Force before becoming a business professor at the Winston‑Salem campus of the University of North Carolina, Robinson supports the right of all law‑abiding Americans to keep and bear arms. His strong belief in the 2nd Amendment has earned him the endorsement of NRA‑PVF. On August 17, Vernon Robinson will face Virginia Foxx in a runoff contest for the Republican nomination in the 5th Congresssional District of North Carolina. --nra-pvf-- Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America¡¯s oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. Four million members strong, NRA continues its mission to uphold Second Amendment rights and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law‑abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services. Paul Valone, President, Grass Roots North Carolina Telephone: (704) 907-9206 E-mail: pres@grnc.org Release date: August 16, 2004 5th Congressional Candidate: Foxx Falsely Claims Gun Group ¡®Endorsement¡¯ In a recent radio interview and most recently on her web site, US House candidate Virginia Foxx claims she has been endorsed by North Carolina¡¯s most influential state-level gun rights organization, Grass Roots North Carolina. Foxx¡¯s claims are false: ¡õ GRNC does not ¡°endorse¡± candidates. Instead, the GRNC Political Victory Fund, GRNC¡¯s registered political action committee, makes recommendations for effective gun rights voting strategies. ¡õ GRNC-PVF recommended Vernon Robinson, not Virginia Foxx for Congress in the 5th District. In a mailing of The GRNC Activist to members and supporters, Vernon Robinson earned GRNC¡¯s highest 4-star evaluation and recommendation as a likely leader for gun owners in Congress. In Foxx¡¯s own words: ¡°The Big Lie¡± Ironically, the radio spot in which Foxx falsely claims the GRNC endorsement is titled, ¡°The Big Lie,¡± supposedly pointing out lies propagated by Robinson. In reality, the biggest mistruth in the ad seems to be spoken by Foxx herself. To hear the false ad, go to: http://www.virginiafoxx.com/media/ad17.html

Vernon's lastest ad: Shows that Pakistani that was caught down in Charlotte video taping buildings. Says he came through the southern border, not to pursue the American Dream, but to KILL YOU. Elect me and I'll shut the border down.

N.C. Candidate: Pakistani a 'Terrorist'

.c The Associated Press

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A Pakistani man charged with immigration violations after filming Charlotte skyscrapers is described as a ``terrorist'' who came to the country ``to kill you'' in a new television ad from a North Carolina congressional candidate. Vernon Robinson began airing the ad days before his runoff election Tuesday in a Republican primary against state Sen. Virginia Foxx.

Kamran Akhtar, arrested July 20, has been in custody ever since on immigration charges and on charges he made false statements to officers.

Authorities say he also videotaped buildings in Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas, and an investigation into whether he has ties to terrorism is ongoing. His family has said Akhtar is a video buff.

Akhtar's attorney, George Miller, called the political ad ``grossly unfair.''

``We haven't even had a probable cause hearing,'' Miller told the Charlotte Observer. ``There's been no trial. There's been nothing.''

Stricter enforcement of immigration laws has been a central issue in Robinson's campaign. His new ad shows a picture of Akhtar.

``When Vernon said our unguarded Mexican border was a threat to our national security, the liberals laughed,'' an announcer says in the ad. ``They're not laughing anymore. This is Pakistani terrorist Kamran Akhtar. He got arrested videotaping targets in Charlotte, North Carolina. He came here illegally, across our Mexican border.''

Then Robinson speaks: ``I'm Vernon Robinson and I approve this message because Akhtar didn't come here to live the American dream. He came here to kill you. In Congress, I will shut that border down.''

Robinson doesn't apologize for the ad.

``If it quacks like a duck and we're in war time, I think it's a fair assessment,'' he said. ``He wasn't a tourist (and) wasn't here to study architecture.''

Robinson is catching hell in the local media for this ad (Greensboro News and Record and all the local television channels). I have spent the last 24 hours exchanging emails with Greensboro News and Record Editor John Robinson over the liberal slant of that newspaper. He challenged me to give him specific examples, which I did after reading this morning's paper (4 questionable articles, 2 anti-Bush, 2 pro Kerry). He says I am being unfair by just using one day's coverage, but I actually gave him examples over the last 3 days. He goes on to say that I will probably not "be satisfied" with any answer he gives, but I took his challenge and called him on it. I haven't heard from him since.

He shouldn't. Ok, there hasn't been a trial proving the guy is a terrorist. So?

In the country illegaly and video taping the kinds of buildings the terrorists want to strike. Pakistani origin adds fuel to the fire.

Vernon is right - "what do you EXPECT me to say???"

I didn't say this was right or wrong, I just stated that the local media is giving Robinson hell for it. Hell, I support Vernon.

I rarely read the fiswrap anymore. Since Van King allowed a slimey reporter to smear Jack Perdue with the "slaves were happy" tripe I've not bought their paper and take great delight in telling the route manager exactly how I feel about his employer once a year when he stops by trying to get me to sign up for a subscription.
