But enough about that. I had been wondering for days leading up to Reagan's speech yesterday just why the Dems seem to be hitting stem-cell research so hard as a campaign issue. Indeed, they've been doing so since Ronaldus Magnus' funeral, when the Ron Sr. - Ron Jr. rift first began to receive serious public attention. Well, the slam job that Ron Reagan Jr. did on those whose "theological views will harm the rest of us" put everything into place.
Stem cell research is their Trojan horse for maintaining abortion through means of a back door.
Let's face it, despite their public bravado, the Democrats are very, very scared about the abortion issue. They've tied themselves inextricably to the pro-abortion philosophy and groups. Yet, the trends among the American public have been towards increased opposition to abortion in general, stronger opposition to partial birth abortion, and an increase in people describing themselves as "pro-life". The country is now pretty much evenly split on the issue (obvious even despite the often slanted questions used by news organisations to try and give the appearance of greater public support for abortion), which is a huge difference from the situation when abortion became legal in 1973, and was generally support by something like 2/3 of the population.....

OK
Please tell us what you think public policy should be on abortion?
Since I have very little to do with determining public policy, whatever the majority decides, is fine with me.

That is correct.
